I have heard the rumors, but I have also read encounters that describe her as a nice person. Conan loves her too, so that's a plus. I still like her.

She could be really nasty in general, but a lot of the bad things I hear about her are connected to her relationship with Scott Patterson. I have seen her take a lot of heat because she doesn't praise him enough in interviews or for making a statement about Lorelai/Chris being "wish fulfillment" or for not seeming too into the Luke/Lorelai thing. Even if they absolutely hate each other, that's just one tense relationship with a co-worker; it doesn't necessarily mean that either of them are evil.

I also believe she was pretty vocal to the creators about her character, and that may have rubbed some the wrong way. There is the example where Lorelai says "I've got the good kid" when she finds out Paris has started having sex but Rory is still a virgin. Lauren fought hard to change that line because she did not want to pass judgment on other girls' choices, especially considering Lorelai's life story. The writers refused to let her change it. And I can believe the set was sometimes unpleasant, because Amy Sherman-Palladino seems pretty eccentric (and I imagine actors can feel a little stifled when the producers ban all ad-libbing). Aside from Scott/Lauren, I haven't heard of any other tension. And even when the Palladinos rant in TVGuide, they always speak highly of the entire cast. Also, I have never heard of her being rude to fans or diva-ish off-set.

I've watched Gilmore Girls, and I really don't see why anything Graham does is Emmy worthy. If you read the boards and listen to fan opinion, she's like Olivier or something. I do think she's gorgeous, and seems accept the fact that she's not 20, unlike some people.

I still like her. I think she does great as Lorelai on GG. Even on talk shows she seems like fun.
And she was great in Bad Santa. That is such a funny movie! And so weird to see "Lorelai" in that role!

ITA. I have also watched and don't understand what all the fuss is about either. I really don't think she is as great an actress as she is made out to be. But for some reason there is a group that seems to be offended everytime her name is omitted from a nomination list.

I have never understood the "Lauren was robbbbbed" whining that goes on each Emmy season. Seriously, she's on ok dramedy on the WB and her co-stars out-act her. How is she being robbed?

Well, I have no first-hand knowledge but my wife worked in the publicitiy department at the WB until about a year ago and Graham was always one of her favorites. Apparently, the GG crew is crazy about her, too. And, in my experience, if an actor is a diva, the crew and publicity people will be the first to hate them (because they have to put up with most of the b.s.). I just assume that any negative rumors about LG stem from people expecting her to be perky, fun Lorelai all the time even though she works on a tense set 14 hours a day and has to do love scenes with a guy who is apparently quite a douchebag.

I've heard the good and the bad rumors about her, but I like her so I'm more likely inclined to believe the good ones. ( And because of what Sancho wrote. That's the closest connected thing I read about 'til now). I agree that I don't think LG acting merits an Emmy, but I also think that most of the Emmy nominees are overrated.

LG is good looking, but in a way that you can still believe coming across someone like her in your daily life or a town like Stars Hallow. Not like for example Marg Helgenberger who looks stunning on CSI (with medical help, I know ), but is totally unbelievable in that setting.

Her acting is okay for the role of Lorelei. A serious character in a drama would probably be too much. Lauren should stick to comedies and sit-coms. Alexis Bledel is a much weaker actress IMO.

And Sancho do you have any other WB info you can share with us ?

I love her as Lorelai, but can't stand her in interviews. Her apperance on Ellen when she was talking about 'dating' George Clooney made me want to shoot myself.
