Thank God - the thin thread carries on.
It's my understanding she goes to regular "rehab" in NY and LA. It honestly doesn't look like it's working though. The whole ED subject is so "foreign" to me because I likes my food and life is too short in the first place to run around looking like a human praying mantis (big head, skinny everything else).

Hi guys. I don't really have much to add right now, just that I'm glad to see you both and also glad that we've got this thread up and going. So excited!

Sooooo...does everyone agree she has an ED - am I the only one who looks at her and sees a primary problem with the Bolivian Marching Powder that just gets massaged by her PR as an eating disorder?

I don't know what's sadder about these two: that they're rich enough that they really don't need to work, that they seem to have some major issues with growing up, or that I'm supposed to feel sorry for them because they just don't want to get help and prefer to use 'pity fame' to keep in the spotlight.
Seriously, they have the funds to get help. I don't understand why they continue to do all of this and expect everybody to feel sorry just because their careers are stuck in kiddie hell.

Monster - I am not going to defend the twins here because I'm neutral on them as people but given their upbringing I'm not sure being normal, emotionally healthy/balanced people is that possible. I've been known to trot this out in the Britney thread as well - I'm not saying "they had bad childhoods so everything they do is OK and not their responsibility" - I'm just saying it's a lot easier for me to see how someone with MK Olsen's background would be a fucked up addict at 18 (18?) than, for example, someone from a normal family in the 'burbs. It takes a certain kind of parent to allow their child to work from infancy.

I think she has a coke problem as well as an ED. And hasn't she been readmitted to a center recently? Or a hospital?

I agree with you, ladyboy. I think she has both and the coke problem helps the eating disorder continue.

Maybe it's because I read too many Sweet Valley High books as a child, but I now think of Ashley as Elizabeth, and Mary Kate at Jessica. If Jessica did lots of blow.
(I'm soooo glad to have something to supplement my FT-loss sadness!)

Oh God. With matching 'Flying Fuck' necklaces and sharing a Fiat.
I'd buy those MK and A novels.

One of the most difficult things about regaining weight in recovery from anorexia is the worry that everyone is watching you do so and will comment about it behind your back. In MK's case, that paranoia is actually true. I've dealt with anorexia myself for years and I can't imagine trying to go through recovery in the public eye. I give her a lot of credit for even attempting it.
