I am of two minds about Mary Kate and that New York Times article that was cited above. On one hand, there is a valid point that she is dressing the "Bobo Style" (bohemian bourgeois--something I haven't heard but I have seen). The Bobo style is as heinous as the trust-fund kids wearing Trucker Hats in Williamsburg and generally, following the rich kids dressing like "poor people" trend that has existed for a looong time. As heinous as it is, she is being stylish and is actually interesting within the context of this particular trend.

On the other hand, she is dressing like a lot of anorexic girls I have known and this fashion forwardness might be a mask for a general feeling of shame about her body.

Either way, I think she's really cute. And I hope she gets better.

Celebrities do know dogs can walk, right? Or is it just me? Have I caused irreparable damage to my sister's dogs by taking them for walks? Should I have been carrying them all along?

Oh my gosh, those pics make me want to cry. She looks so lost, hiding behind that puppy. Normally I hate it when young people get dogs, because you know they're just doing it because puppies are cute and the minute they aren't cute anymore, they're neglected or given to shelters [/rant], but maybe nurturing something else for a while will help MK get some perspective. I don't know. She just seems so sad, all the time. That must be hard.

Aw, she looks so sweet caring the dog. I really hope maybe it will give her some companionship, especially now that she and Ashley are growing apart a little.
I have an unabashed love of the Olsens. My friends all love to make fun of me, although just a couple weeks ago, we all watched Billboard dad. The girls were so clean-cut back then.
If you scroll down a little bit on that link, one of the posters has a picture of the twins when they were a little younger, MK has stick straight hair and Ashley has pigtails, and they just look adorable. Aww

These pics look fairly normal to me - I mean, she looks like a basically normal person. I don't feel any tears over these snaps.

As for the dog - how could you NOT carry that thing? I'd be hard pressed not to gobble him up, he's cute as hell!!

Also, I don't think young people owning pets is necessarily a bad thing - I am sure there are lots of under-22's who take good care of their animals!
