HYSTERICAL in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. He and Val need to do more movies together. I want to see A Scanner Darkly.

Gibson supported Downey Jr. through all his shit, so I guess he kind of has to support him. Although it seems like Downey chimed in a little late, and a little unnecessarily.

Yes, he and CMG shared an agent for a few years, and go way back to Air America together. CMG was not as high profile of his support of RDJr the way other people were, but he has tried to help him out. CMG's production company did the film version of "The Singing Detective."
Like Jodie Foster, his defense of CMG dents my Bob love, but does not kill it totally.

Why was he a presenter at the Oscars? By comparison he made Gwyneth's presence seem suitable.
His little on-stage reference to his drug abuse annoyed me. All of the little jokes he makes about his drug history annoy me. I can't remember what he said exactly, but he made some joke about the scenes in "Pan's Labyrinth" being like all his drug-induced hallucinations, or something. I thought it came out of nowhere. He tries to look so humble and so willing to laugh at himself, but I think he really overdoes it. And I think a large part of that is quite insulting. It's nice that he's a rich, famous celebrity and he's fortunate enough to be able to laugh now about his weathered, all-encompassing drug use, but a lot of people in the world who have been involved with a similar situation probably can't find the humor in it all for a variety of reasons.

I thought it was really funny considering that he was presenting an award for visual effects.I don't mind celebrities poking fun at themselves or their problems. It shows they have a sense of humour after all. It's when they get smug and arrogant about it that it pisses me off. (Naomi hit me and I loved it...anyone?). And frankly, I'd rather get a laugh out of it, then see these celebrities tear up in Vanity Fair to learn about the struggle it took them to overcome whatever issues they had. I think it's better him and Steve Carrell, than La Lopez, Jessica Biel, Aniston, Jessica Alba, etc who haven't earned the right to be there, yet. At least Steve Carrell is funny and RDJ is actually a good actor. I like it better anyway. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is an awsome movie.

I agree to a certain extent, but I think RDJ has had enough opportunities to laugh at his own expense. Shouldn't he have it out of his system by now? I really do think it's become a big part of his public persona. He's the recovering addict who always having a jolly good laugh about the 52,000 drug-related arrests he's had. It just rubs me the wrong way.

Eh, I don't know. I think I'd rather hear him joke about it than get all weepy and "poor me" and stuff. In every single interview I've seen him do, they always try to delve into the drug/alcohol/rehab/life change questions and he's just like, "Let's move on, please" because it's not in his life anymore. He knows everyone wants him to get all deep with it but once you've moved on from something like that, although it's always a battle, the past is not something you want to rehash, because it's not your reality. It'll always be what people ask and focus on when his name comes up, even 10, 20 years from now, so his options are to either make light of it or get all deep with it, and really I'd rather see the former. I'm a total RDJ apologist because he's intelligent, sexy as hell, and I love his work. I even wrote a song about him 8 years ago. Don't judge me.

Gay gay gay gay gay gay gay. Gay. I could keep writing the word "Gay" for the rest of my life, and it still would not convey how GAY he is. Now, granted, he could just be the most effeminate straight man in the world, but...if it looks like a duck... I would link to one of his many homo-licious TV interviews, but I can't keep food down watching that guy. He's so annoying.
pretty good actor though.
