I used to like him just fine until I heard about his philosophy for "dealing" with women. Then I went completely cold on him. Plus, over the years I've gotten completely sick of that slurry voice of his.

I've never seen the appeal either. Even back when he had hair, I didn't think he was attractive. Roger Moore is my James Bond anyway.
When they paired Connery with CZJ, ugh, that was so yeck.

Good for Diane Cilento for speaking up. I often wondered why she never seemed to have much of a career after The Admirable Crichton. As for Sean, what a sucky father he must be if he can't be bothered to return home when his 7 year old son is assaulted. Poor Jason.  |

What exactly happened to his son?
What a dick. I remember reading that he and Ewan McGregor got into a fight at a soccer game because Connery started spouting off about Scottish politics, even though he hasn't lived in Scotland for years, and Ewan, of course, has a big mouth. This is also around the time when he was still drinking, and he basically told him off.

Guess I'm in the minority, but I've always found him extremely sexy in an'older man' sorta way. I've always enjoyed his films.
A few years ago a friend of mine who works in film was telling me that he has quite the reputation with the ladies and slept with anyone and everyone. His marriage apparently is pretty open.
This new information though, really a big turn off.

I forgot to mention - A friend of mine told me 2 months ago that she works with his son (with Micheline) and got the impression during the course of business she was transacting with her that they live apart.
We were speculating why - our minds immediately went to "Gay Beard!", but dismissed it. Maybe she can't deal with his rages either, but won't divorce for some reason.

Sorry, I really don't mean to make light of Connery's extreme dickishness, he's just so laughable. And best of all I don't have to feel bad about it anymore. |
