I think it says something that he believed that it might be true. Yep. If he was on the up and up, he wouldn't have reacted that way. Malaak had better watch herself.

He's cheated on Malaak a milliion times before. She knows the situation, but i guess she likes the money/status.

I think the guy's an asshat too*, but that's still pretty fucked up.
*Although I DID like his little routine about bullet control.

He is in another country, and accusations like that would be damn scary, even if they are not true. If I were a celeb like Rock, and got that news, the first thing I would do is call my lawyer and follow his/her advice.

The allegations were very serious, and nothing wrong with trying to find out what one's options are. I just don't get it. When did statutory rape become OK to joke about? Not very funny to me. This whole story seems fishy to me. I can't find one credible news source reporting this story. Maybe the story itself is the practical joke/publicity stunt? Would anyone really stoop down that low for a reality show?

In this day and age, even if someone is raising a baseless charge against you, you better come prepared to defend yourself, including be prepared to get a restraining order.

He's been burned before, too, by false charges (the woman who claimed her child was his and sued for support). He's probably pretty aware of what he should do when he wants to fight allegations.

And this is why this "prank" is so insidious. It's like that old joke of asking a man "So, when did you stop beating your wife?" No matter what the target's response, he can't help but make himself look bad to some people. Chris Rock did exactly what any innocent person accused of a heinous crime should do but that response will make some wonder "Hmmm, maybe there's something to this story." I don't care how many times he's cheated on his wife (and really, we have no idea whether or not she's cheated on him), being accused of child rape is not a just punishment for adultery.

My friend went to the dress rehearsal for the Kennedy Center Awards last week and said Chris Rock was an asshole - yelling and cursing at the staff about the lighting and mikes. She said his act was funny but he seemed like a jerk.
Good days and bad days, I guess.
