I'm very impressed with the NYPD. They sure did first rate work, matching the bathtub footprint to a shoeprint in the construction apartment and then tracking down the perp.

This crime is just sickening. I have to say that I'm glad that the police found out what happened to her. As devasting as her murder is, I imagine that it would have be very difficult for her family if they had continued to think that she had killed herself. They would have always wondered why. That's what I thought too. It's bad enough that this heartless little punk killed her over a noise complaint, but then to stage it to look like a suicide? That's almost as bad as the murder itself, to let her family think - or worse, to let her three year old daughter grow up thinking - that there was some way they'd failed her, or that she was so unhappy that being with them didn't even matter. And this guy would have let them think that just to cover his own ass. I'm glad they caught this dirtbomb.

I was so sad to hear about her death. She really had it all-a familly and happiness in her career. Then in one fall swoop it's taken from her. I live in NY and the one thing my sister told me is never confront a neighbor about noise-just call the cops so no one will ever know you complained. People are scary. RIP Adrienne.

Yup, same here, InchoateDetails. There are smokers outside in our hallway and it drifts into my apartment. I don't confront them, forget it. I just make my call to the landlord and let him deal with it. I confronted some guy on the subway platform because he littered, and I swear I though he was going to punch my lights out. It's totally not worth it.

From what I understand, it was not so much the complaint about the noise that set him off. It was that she mentioned calling the police, and he was afraid he was going to be deported. He speaks almost no English.

Wow, can you imagine being punched so hard it kills you? I hope she died instantly, or to think she knew she was being dragged... :: Shudder::
Now her child won't know her mom! To think, one day her dad will have to tell her how her mom died. Thank god they know it's not suicide.

That's what I was wondering - did he punch her so hard she died, or was she still alive when he hung her from the rod (a horrific thought). Either way, he's going to jail for her murder - in both scenarios, he killed her.
