The same co-worker who told me about Ed Bradley told us about Gerald Levert at work today. Her son called to tell her. I'm not a big fan of R & B but even I recognize him as one of the great R & B voices. And he was so young. Only 40. He had a lot of beautiful music still in him.

I will always have a bit of love for him singing on that Chris Rock "song" No Sex In The Champagne Room. Damn, that shit was funny.

I'm still in shock. My phone was blowing up yesterday when the news broke. Can't believe it. ConceteLoop has some of the last pictures of him... So sad...I'm sure the entire family is going through a rough time. Eddie Levert looked like his brother -- not father. Good looking family. RIP

For a big guy he could really get down. Looks like he's really getting in the groove.

Didn't he sing "Casanova"? Me and Romeo ain't never been friends. As soon as I saw HE had a thread, I knew. He's too random for anything else. They did a radio tribute to him on two stations in Chicago last night. It was storming like crazy here last night and I didn't mind the rush hour drive at all because I was jamming to Levert. Those songs brought back soooooo many memories.

I'm still in disbelief over this one. 40?? That is too tragic. What a loss.

That wasn't his daughter; that was his sister. Her father is Eddie Levert -- not Gerald.

That wasn't his daughter; that was his sister. Her father is Eddie Levert -- not Gerald. The show that I saw featured the DAUGHTER OF GERALD LEVERT. It was called "My Sweet 16". She wanted a car, she was featured practicing in the recording studio, both Gerald and her mother were there as well.
