I flove Tom Hanks, and I was super curious to find out why he would just pop up in Miss Jepsen's music video. A little Google sleuthing, and per this article from Rolling Stone:

Jepsen and Hanks met at the wedding of Bieber's manager Scooter Braun last year, and Braun is responsible for reuniting the pair in the upbeat clip for the bubbly single. "Scooter was telling the story [of the video] to Tom over dinner, and Tom apparently said 'Why not me? Why didn't you ask me?" Jepsen told Access Hollywood. "I got a call three days before Christmas from Scoots being like 'Do you think Tom Hanks would do?'"

So Tom Hanks is connected to Martin Short, Scooter Braun, Carly Rae Jepson and even Justin Bieber, not to mention his whole Big Fat Greek Wedding thing? I guess we can call him an honorary Canadian.

Love this guy so much, and what an impressive movie career! Watching that clip, I kept thinking, "Oh yeah, that one! And that movie! And I forgot about that!"

If there's ever evidence that he's an asshole in real life, it will be the biggest disappointment.

And I hope they make Walt Disney biopic starring him, he really nailed it.

Out of curiosity I scrolled through Hanks' imdb page, and they missed a lot more than Dragnet (Dragnet just stuck out to me because it was such an obvious go-to film that could have been easily acted out between two people... even if it was a stinker of a movie) But they missed a lot, Charlie Wilson's War, Bonfire of the Vanities, Man with one Red Shoe, Mazes and Monsters (anyone remember that one?!?!? :-D!!!)

However, I won't quibble. They got plenty in under 8 minutes AND I'll just go ahead and guess that some of the missing movies were cut for an extended Big scene. (Which was WELL worth it!!)

(I wish they would have snuck in a Bosom Buddies reference though...)

If he's an asshole in real life- then he needs to get the World's Biggest Oscar made up of everyone else's melted down Oscars. Because there's no better Actor EVER if he's that good at making us think he's a nice guy ;-)!

I think there have been some veiled references to him being a mean drunk at times, but I don't know how substantiated those rumors are. And of course, there's the rumor that Ginny Goodwin was his longtime mistress.

I met him briefly a few years ago, and he couldn't have been nicer and more down to earth. I adore him. (and side eye the rumors)

When I read a blind item about an A+ actor with a nice guy reputation who's engaged in something shady, I always wonder if it's him because I can't think of anyone who would shock me more based on his public persona.
