Michael Richards

Richards, who played the wacky Cosmo Kramer on the hit TV show "Seinfeld," appeared onstage at the Laugh Factory in West Hollywood. It appears two guys, both African-American, were in the cheap seats playfully heckling Richards when suddenly, the comedian lost it.

The camera started rolling just as Richards began his attack, screaming at one of the men, "Fifty years ago we'd have you upside down with a f***ing fork up your ass."

Richards continued, "You can talk, you can talk, you're brave now motherf**ker. Throw his ass out. He's a n****! He's a n****! He's a n****! A n****, look, there's a n****!"

He disgusts me.

Wow, horrible. He may claim to be rich, but he is a has-been. Hopefully this will push him even further into obscurity and he won't be able to even get the lowly comedy club gigs.

Could he have been on something or hopped up on booze or something? I just can't imagine any adult of sane mind letting an audience get to you that way. He put himself up there, he should have been aware that not everyone will be a fan and some people get off on heckling.

I've always thought he sucked (although I didn't see this coming), and I always hated the character of Kramer.

I am so sick of people tolerating this shit. Even with Mel Gibson - minus the ridiculous alcohol excuse - there was a great deal of "eh - so what?"

Oh and Michael? The people who lynched African-Americans were usually willing to lynch Jews such as yourself, too, idiot.

I only got through about 10 seconds of that. What the hell? Even if that was just an Andy Kaufman style shock performance art act, it's inexcusable.

I just watched it, it was uncomfortable. People were actually laughing (from what I could tell) when he first started the rant but it looks like once the two hecklers got up and left and told him that he was uncalled for, others started getting up too and leaving. It appeared to be somewhat chaotic but the end of it all.

One of the guys called him a wash-up and said that he sucks and that's why he never did anything after Seinfeld. No movies or no shows. Michael was like "Well I guess you got me there" all sarcastic.

I had no idea that Michael Richards even did stand-up. I thought he was just an actor.

And I agree with Binky, I'm so tired of people tolerating this shit. Those messages that it's OK to say that filter down. Quit hiring them! Quit forgiving them so quickly and accepting feeble excuses. Which as far as I'm aware, haven't been given yet in this place but I'm assuming he'll cite alcoholism.
