What comic hasn't had hecklers? I think the first thing they learn is how to deal with them. Either he doesn't normally do stand up and didn't know how to handle it, or was just ready to blow anyway. And even if he couldn't handle hecklers - get over yourself.
Anyway, apparently the heckling wasn't even that bad - someone said "My friend doesn't think you're funny.".
He's probably googling rehab facilities right now. Or he'll claim it's a social experiment - he says at one point "That's what happens when you argue with the white man.... ahh, the words - they're shocked by the words".
I'm waiting to hear what the club managers and owners have to say about letting him go on the next night.

I'm waiting to hear what the club managers and owners have to say about letting him go on the next night. Not only do comics know how to handle hecklers, the really good ones have prepared responses to common heckles (a la the "you're not funny" variety) that they can deliver as if the response is spontaneous. Michael's not googling rehab facilities. He's googling himself. When's the last time this many people were talking about him? And the "social experiment" argument just makes him seem like a Borat wannabe. Dear God, is that where comedy is going? The return of the insult comic as social commentary. Gag. What a loser. And yes, he better get a CMG style shunning and public dressing down.

What exactly happened with Andy Kaufman?

Well, you can still watch the one where Jerry and Elaine go to Florida, at least.

Several years ago I read an article about the Seinfeld cast. The article said that Richards always held himself apart from the others, he rarely interacted with them in between takes and seldom even talked to anyone on the set.
I guess he was never a warm and fuzzy guy, but who knew that he was such a pig...

It was in response to it. But yeah, it's all just a very ugly situation.

Aw hell. I never knew much about Richards, just that I liked Kramer and vaguely remember liking him on "Fridays." His "Kramer hair" reminded me of an old college buddy I had a crush on. That's not enough to redeem him now, though. What a bastard.

What is it with comics? Why do they always end up being such hateful assholes? If they're not complete miserable pieces of crap (Jerry Lewis, Bill Cosby) they're self-destructive sad sacks (Richard Pryor). Are there any normal human being comics?

I never understood the fuss about him anyway. That hairdo made him look like an extra from the cast of Eraserhead.
