I loved the Oklahoma soundtrack with him playing Curly. He's just got soo much energy and enthusiasm which is perfect for that role. Didn't even know it was him until I was reading the liner notes and there his name was. I don't even really like comic book movies (example - After seeing Spiderman 2 over and over on an El Al flight, I was kind of cheering for the Octopus guy to win. Stupid 14 hour flight). But the X Men ones were pretty good, even for a comic book illiterate like myself. And Hugh was definitely one of the big reasons they were good. I do agree that he needs to be a little pickier about the roles he chooses. Please.

From tennisfan's link: That's for sure. James Bond seems to be the kiss of death for some actors. Wolverine's far sexier anyway.

Well, I kinda hoped that he would hop on board, but since he's already part of the while X-Men thing, maybe he really didn't want to do another franchise-type thing.
I recently read that he and his wife just adopted a little girl. I kinda like how they were extremely low profile about it. I've only read it in one place and they aren't all over the cover of People talking about what great parents they are.

He still pings me. I'm not sure why.

Hugh is the only thing about Van Helsing that kept that movie from being criminally heinous. I just love him, I can't help it. Yeah, I loved how when Kate Beckinsale talked he'd occasionally get this "WTF?" look on his face. Totally made the movie (along with Richard Roxburgh's Campy McCampington performance).

The only thing I've heard about him (even on some of the more vicious gossip sites) is that he is "gay-friendly" - has gay friends, and isn't afraid of the "stigma" of being associated with them or being called gay (like when he responded to gay rumors by saying "at least they aren't accusing me of anything I'd be ashamed of").
Some point to the fact that he married an older woman, but to me he seems genuinely in love with her - I remember reading a "celebrity encounter" from someone who saw them at a broadway show while walking back into the theater after intermission and realized that it was Hugh and his wife walking right in front of them. The person said that he was really affectionate with her, and this was when there was no one (official) around to document that. And really, what's the point in having a beard if you're going to be so low-profile?
Although if he is gay, he's certainly hiding it in a smart way by avoiding the "What?? I'm not gay!!! Look at my wonderful wife/girlfriend!! You'll be hearing from my lawyer!!" reaction some celebs have, thereby making people even more suspicious.

I remember that in the site that shall not be named, someone had posted an old Australian interview that he gave to a gay magazine. That magazine was seemingly very militant against famous people in the closet. However, they specifically stated that he isn't gay. Anybody else remembers it?
