Did a search, couldn't find a thread. Is it safe to say she is a legend of country music?

Whew, I thought she was dead.
I used to watch her show when I was little. I wanted to have my own country variety show with my sister.

No, not dead. I saw her on some interview show, and she has aged well.

Damn! I thought she was a goner!
As a child, my brother used to watch that variety show she had with her sisters. To this day I tease him about it.

No, not dead. I saw her on some interview show, and she has aged well. Ah...the wonders of plastic surgery! Remember that car accident she had, back in the 80s? My friend claims that Barbara Mandrell lost a lot of fans after that because she chose to sue the woman who'd been involved in the accident. I guess country music fans felt like a woman who was as rich as Barbara was shouldn't be extracting money from someone who wasn't. As for her show with her sisters...I always thought the brunette one, Louise, was jealous of Barbara's success.

There should seriously be a "not dead" tag we could put temporarily on new threads for established stars.
I always liked her show and I don't generally like country music. She and her sisters always looked like they had fun together.

I used to watch her variety program. So much fringe and sparkles and big hair. And I was always amused at the idea that her sisters secretly hated her because she was the headliner and got the better lines and costumes.

When I see Barbara Mandrell, I always think about that beauty pageant that I was in my Junior year. Her daughter was BIG BIG BIG in the pageants, and actually won Miss Teen Tennessee and was a finalist for Miss Teen USA. Well, the gal who won from my county roomed with Jaime at Miss Teen TN and is now LilB's Hearing Specialist. She said that Jaime is a very nice person. Small world.
