I think I remember that she said she never took a dime from those people, or ever intended to. She said it had to do with the insurance companies. Her insurance company had to sue his to get payment.

I remember going to Nashville with a friend back in 1994. For some reason, we decided to stop into a store called Barbara Mandrell Country. It was a typical souvenir shop, with the added bonus of having the Barbara Mandrell Museum in the basement. Normal admission price was $8, but they had generously cut the price in half to $4. I used to watch Barbara Mandrell and the Mandrell Sisters on TV back in the day (shut up! I was a kid), but I was so annoyed at them thinking that Barbara was worth an $8 admission fee, that I wasn't even willing to pay $4.

Barbara sued the woman involved in her car accident because her insurance wouldn't pay her medical bills if she didn't. Apparently a few states have a law that you have to sue in order to get your insurance to pay up.

And she felt horrible about suing too. Yes, I read her biography. And the one Louise "wrote." We won't go into the pink satin shirt with the white fringe I wore all the time.
My mom, who detests country music, made the supreme sacrifice of buying tickets to her concert for me. It unfortunately was the one right after her car accident so it was obviously cancelled. I think it soured me on the whole concert-going thing.
I loved her show. Saturday night, in my jammies, watching Barbara Mandrell. Sheer bliss. It might be just about time to dig through the VHS tapes for the Mandrell Christmas special.

(((((HUGS)))))) I LOVED Barbara and her sisters, and that awesome show! Every time I think I am a total dork, I find that a whole bunch of my greecies are ready to jump into the dork pool with me!

As a diehard Krofft fanatic, I loved Truck Shackley & the Texas Critters.
Erlene was my favorite sister. She was such a ditz.
