She played Bubbles on Ab Fab, but she also made a splash over here in the film Little Voice. In fact, Harvey Weinstein was giving her the big push, Oscar build up and all and then Jane came out and dissed Gwyneth Paltrow. I swore I read a quote from Jane that because of that Harvey wrecked her US career.

I love her, she's a great comediac actress, fabulous singer, and pretty darn cute as well.
Oh, and has more talent in her pinky nail then Gwyneth will ever have...

Apparently, she used to date Sam Mendes and they broke up after she said in an interview that he was extremely right wing.

That was a joke that did not go over well, but it's not the reason why they broke up. They continued dating for a couple of years, and Jane used to say in interviews that her boyfriend was no longer permitting her to talk about him in interviews.
I read this in some article about Jane from a long time ago. Other tidbits I can remember: At the time, she hung out at Groucho Club all the time, and had a shrine to herself (framed head shots, candles) in her house.

All I've ever seen her in was Little Voice but that was enough to convince me of her incredible talent. Her Marilyn, her Judy, her Shirley! All so damn spot on.

I don't believe she dissed Fishstick, per se. Jane just revealed that her participation in Little Voice was tenuous because Harvey had tried very hard to replace her with Fishstick. It was a statement of fact that she made very graciously, but Harvey took a lot of flak for it, and it also messed with the publicity angle Harvey had devised for the movie (that the role was written for Jane and she was the only actress on earth who could pull it off).
One admires Jane's honesty. However, had she cooperated with Harvey, his method would probably have gotten her an Oscar nom (and parts in future movies).

I think Jane Horrocks is an amazing actress. I just loved her on Ab Fab as Bubble.
I love her even more now if she dissed Gwynnie..... ;D
