I think I read somewhere that she split with Mendes because he didn't want to get married and have kids; obviously he's changed his mind since. She used to go out with Ian Dury as well.

Gwhiney as LV would have been a disaster. I too read somewhere that Weinstein wanted his little toy to play the part, and that Sam Mendes and co had an absolute shitfit. The part WAS originally written for Jane, and there was no way they were going to let Harvey ruin it.
