Didn't Jessica Alba date the much-older producer of her SF cable show when she was that young? And that relationship didn't go anywhere, and she eventually found herself a man closer to her in age.

Jessica Alba dated and even got engaged to her male co-star, Michael Weatherly, during her Dark Angel days.

I have to be honest, that quote skeeved me out even BEFORE the rumors came out they were dating.
If I were just about to turn 18 and my 30-year-old coworker said that about me? Yeah, not cool.

I'm not getting the big deal, she is 18. If it works it works, if it doesn't it doesn't. I don't Hayden is some fragile naive girl who needs protection from the big bad wolf (Milo). I am more shocked that Milo went for her, not because she is young but because she seems so vapid. Alas, it is Hollywood and these kinds of hookups are extremely common.
Hell, Lauren Bacall was like 19 when she hooked up with a 45 year old Bogart. They later married and had kids. See also Mia Farrow and Frank Sinatra.
I just don't see the big deal about a 12 year old age difference, when they probably have similar maturity levels, vapidness aside.

Its not necessarily the 12 year age difference its the "18" and "30" thing. There's a HUGE difference in life experience. At least I hope so! To reach 30 years old and still have the emotional and mental age of a teenager is pathetic! And most teenagers haven't lived enough to be a real adult. I find that men who date such young girls don't want an equal. They want someone they can control and who makes them feel younger. Its all about their needs which is why I find this relationship creepy. And for the record Bacall/Bogart thing CREE.PEE. Farrow/Sinatra ended because they were both at different points in their lives. And he was having a weird mid-life crisis! The great Sinatra wearing hippie beads and bell bottoms. It was joke. I'm sure in some cases it can work out. But on some level I'll always find it a bit creepy. Sorry for the excessive use of the word "creepy".

What does 'life experience' have to do with anything? If they were just Platonic friends, palling around for the sake of conversation, no one would care. "She needs to disuss environmental politics with someone closer to her own age, damn it!"
It's the probability that they're having sex with each other that has everyone up in arms, and unless he's inducing her to participate in some weird bondage games he learned in Sweden, I don't think his 'life experience' is going to rattle her.
Are you suggesting that 18-year-olds should pick partners who don't yet know how to give a woman an orgasm?

I don't know why, but I'm not too freaked out about the idea of her dating her 30 year old co-star. Sometimes it works.
And that Lucky cover is truly a testament to being a pack rat with your clothes. I had a dress almost identical to that about 10-12 years ago. I got rid of it circa 2000 because I thought it was outdated. And I didn't pay $375 for it either. I think Vera Wang is such a hack.
