I'm almost 30 and I have a cousin that's almost 18. She's not a dumb ass, but there's just not a lot for us to talk about other than family, movies and music, really. I don't know any 30 year olds that would be friends with someone just out of high school. There's just, usually, a ton of life experience that happens when you're twelve years out of high school. But then, I guess that's the point that everyone else has been trying to make.

For me, life experience constitutes more than just sexual experience. Levels of emotional, mental, and physical maturity levels change throughout one's life.

For the most part, once a person reaches 30, they should have little in common with an 18 year old. I don't know of any 30 year olds who hang out with 18 year olds either.

Back to Hayden, she looks a little troll-like to me. Of course, Milo has kind of an unusual look to him too. He certainly likes his girls real young.

The problem I have with the pairing isn't so much the age thing, it's more that I despise Milo and kind of like Hayden (I'm not even sure why). Also, Milo is just plain unattractive.

I just don't get the big deal with the age difference, especially if we are considering life experience. Perhaps some 18 year old kid from Iowa or not Hollywood California would have had more of sheltered life and therefore not have much in common with a 20 or 25 or 30 year old....but Hayden doesn't seem like the sheltered type. She seems fairly well traveled, etc. Probably had various experiences most people her age haven't had since she is an actress.

I just think at the end of the day it comes down to the people. And I since I don't know either Hayden or Milo personally, I have a hard time simply stating its icky because she doesn't have as much life experience being 18. For all I know Hayden may be the mature one in the relationship. Sometimes these relationships dont' and sometimes they do, I guess we'll see how it plays out.

Plenty of people, of all ages, date or are friends with people and that's what they talk about/have in common - work, family, books, movies, music. There's no reason why and 18 year old and a 30 year old can't have a good time together sharing those kind of interests.

I agree. Age and life experience aren't necessarily the same thing. I've known girls who were married (one twice) and/or had kids before they were twenty and a couple of girls who have yet to have a boyfriend at 25 and 26. Without knowing Milo or Hayden, we can't really say whether they are worlds apart in terms of experience or maturity.

Plus, it's not like Milo just picked up some 18 year old on the street. He and Hayden have worked together and been close for a couple of years now. It may be that they were put off by the age difference at first, but they know they get along well enough/care about each other enough for it not to matter. JMO.

Didn't she party with Paris Hilton when she was barely in high school? Hayden P's not your typical 18 year old and even if she was, she's an adult and Milo Whatshisspelling doesn't strike me as an tool (but I don't know that much about him). I'm not bothered by it.
