I saw them in concert last night at the Pageant in St. Louis. UNBELIEVABLE SHOW. The band was tight, and everybody had such high energy. By about two songs in, I wanted to be Ana Matronic. She's pretty, and vulgar, and awesome.
I guess I knew the band had a gay following, but not as much of a gay following as I saw. I think we were in the approximately 15% straight population--what this meant is that the crowd was fabulous.
The band had a DJ play for the hours before the show started, and it was an awesome mix--we walked in to Depeche Mode's "Policy of Truth" and my mood was instantly lifted. ;D

I've been blaring "Ah-Ha" in my car the last few days. That album is fantastic. I can't even imagine how great the show was. They're in KC tonight but I found out too late. :-(

I love the Scissor Sisters! I bet they'd put on an amazing show, too bad if they ever even come near where I live nobody wil want to go. They're missing out.

I was so worried when I saw this thread pop up! Bar none, they're the one band I would pay pretty much anything to see live. I don't care what anybody says, Ah-Ha was easily the best album of the year. And their passions performance? Very... fittingly campy.

Yeah, I loved that they showed up on Dancing with the Stars. That seemed very fitting as well.
I love these guys. And I love them for the time they were on Regis & Kelly and for some reason Regis was hinting around the gay question so Jake Shears answered, "Well, let me put it this way - no one up here is a lesbian" and poor Regis looked like he was going to pass out.

I have the biggest crush on Jake Shears. Could he be more pretty? I am dying to see them in concert and now that I see this thread I want to even more. By the way, kostgard, I am your avatar made me sincerely LOL.

I got a crush on Babydaddy myself. God I love them. Their music's an example of how great pop music can be, plus they can sing and perform live, which really counts because they don't have to rely on studio tricks to sound good.
If you don't like the Scissor Sisters, you're against fun.

Thanks to this thread I can't get the song "Laura" out of my head.
It was my favorite song off the first album.

the only song of theirs that I've heard was "I Don't Feel Like Dancin'" and for the life of me I have no idea why that wasn't a huge smash here in America. It's one of the catchiest songs I've ever heard. Is the rest of the album that good?

A truer statement can't be made!
Yes, the rest of the album is that good. It's catchy, fun dancey pop-rock, some ballads. The reason it's not bigger here in the US is because the stations are interested in promoting non-interesting, plastic hip-hop crap that owes more to NSync than to Public Enemy and De La Soul, and also, faux-whiney emo "rock" and Nickelback-esque rock bands that are still cashing in on imitating Eddie Vedder, when no one does it better than Vedder himself. Ahem.
I went on an all-day shopping trip in October and heard "I Don't Feel Like Dancin'" in three different stores at the mall. I put that CD on my wish list that day.
