In addition to addiction, I think he has mental issues as well. I don't doubt that at all. It seems like he's another child actor as of late needing to go to rehab for more than just an addiction. It worked for Amanda Bynes (who had a strong family to support her), so I hope that Shia can get the support he needs, too. |

He's totally mentally ill, and I guess there's no one looking after him, or able to reason with him. I heard he wasn't bad in that Von Trier female sex addict movie that came out recently (the name escapes me)but boy is he ruining his career fast.

How about actually addressing your problems instead of walking around getting photographed with an AA manual looking sad. Posing for pictures while holding a prop that makes it look like you might be doing the right thing isn't a solution. I know he has real problems, but I just can't stand this idiot. He just responds to everything in the douchiest way possible, making it impossible for me to believe that it is only his issues at play. I think he's an asshole who happens to have problems. |

This is exactly how I feel. I wish him no harm, but if you cured everything wrong with him tomorrow I think he'd still be a fucking brat. Yeah, I know many people who ended up bitterly disappointed once a loved one sobered up. Many people blame the booze or the drugs for a loved one's douche canoe behavior. Then, loved one kicks the habit and the family must face that loved one is a jerk who happened to have a drug or alcohol problem.
