Oh, certainly not ANOTHER - she didn't get one the first time through, even though it is regulation that everyone gets one. She didn't stand in line to get all checked in like everyone else, she was whisked straight through into her little private cell with the extra blankies.
Some of these defenders are claiming that it was the right thing to do to let Paris go because she was costing the tax payers too much for all the special treatment she required. Well here's an idea - quit giving her special treatment!!!! I can understand isolating her if you feel she is in danger, but beyond that, no special treatment! Gah! This isn't brain surgery, people!
And no, this isn't just a traffic violation. She got a DUI. Then she ignored the requirements of her probation. She was ordered to sign up for classes, and didn't do it. She was caught more than once violating her probation and driving on a suspended license.
Paris did not receive an especially harsh punishment. She was initally treated like anyone else - she got probation, a suspended license, and ordered to attend classes. And she completely ignored all of that and continued to repeat the behavior that got her in trouble in the first place.
These punishments that law enforcement hand out are supposed to act as a deterrent - they are unpleasant, and they are supposed to make us not want to commit the crime again. It was clear that the usual punishment was not working for Paris. The judge sent her to jail because it was plain as day that nothing else was going to get through her thick skull. And then the sherriff turns around and releases her almost immediately. Nice.
Not only does Paris not learn her lesson, but it sets a precedent. It shows that no one is really serious about these punishments, and jail doesn't really act as a deterrent anymore, because it isn't like they're gonna make anyone stay there! Celebs can just ask for the Paris Deal if they ever get into trouble.

Margojata - you know what happens , I have the Paris Hilton page displayed and didn't hit the F5 refresh , so, I was back a page before I posted ( didn't realise it ) As you can see it was only a difference of a few minutes. I will make sure I hit refresh before I post. eta: can anyone tell me the difference between the county jail and the city jail ? Is one better than the other ? I guess the Judge made a condition that she couldn't go to "city" jail ? TIA . I know, sorry if I sounded too pissy. The worst part of this is that her ego is probably inflating even more over all this over the top attention. She probably doesn't get that there is outrage because people HATE her. She should realize that the last person to get this kind of coverage was the dead Anna Nicole - and people weren't exactly warm and fuzzy about her.

I'm sure she doesn't get it--not if she's having her assistant go out there and film the media filming her. Speaking of, it's hard to pinpoint a worst of the worst, but Entertainment Tonight is just so clueless and kiss-ass they make me want to puke. Last night, without irony, Kevin Frazier *reporting from in front of Paris' house*, comments with a "some people" smirk on his face that the police were called to "tell the media to back off."

Add me to the list that believes she got special treatment. Mr. Hawt had a 10 yr. old unpaid speeding ticket and got to do the telephone court thing. HOWEVER, he had to request it, apply for it (filling out multiple pages of info.) and send it back to the court for a judge to even approve it. They don't fax it and you can't go online to download the paperwork. It took a few months and we kept having to have the court date pushed back. We couldn't believe the hoops you have to jump through to pay the damn thing off. (BTW, he was furious when he heard she was released). So, Paris, getting to phone it in two days after she's released? Money certainly does talk, doesn't it?

Nah you didn't margojata !
I think the Judge was trying to smarten her up by putting her in jail. Kind of like the Judge in the Robert Downey Jr. case , the Judge there gave him plenty of chances but in the end , it took throwing him in General Population to straighten RDJr out . I think he's a better person and ALIVE today because of that Judge .
I think that Pariss' mother and father are not very good at parenting , probably not have good parenting themselves. Her parents act as self absorbed and entitled as their daughters. They have not set a very good example for Paris or Nicky. ( if she goes back to jail ) I think Paris could go either way when she gets out - learnt her lesson and straighten out OR be even a more selfish/ spoiled brat.

Yikes! I wish CourtTV was in there right now. Considering how much Paris and her family probably pay for publicists and the like I am amazed at how many public missteps they make. Even if they don't want to play to the public they should at least not openly mock the judge who put her there.
Example: Paris in her flowy pink dress and heels w/ ankle bracelet. Isn't this supposed to be the too-sick-to-continue Paris? How hard would it have been to throw on some sweats. Or at least tone it down a little...

If Paris (and I say "if" because I am preparing myself for her being home monitored) goes back to prison, do you think she'll actually attempt to kill herself?
