Not surprised at all. While I think Drew yearns for a white picket fence family, she just doesn't have the emotional tools to make it work thanks to her fucked up childhood.

That bathroom is awful. It took him three years to "design" an '80s brass box and cover it with chicken wire? I'd leave too.

Yeah, that is not a cool bathroom. I get that maybe the pieces had to be shipped from other places or whatever, but together it looks really dated and the pieces don't come together over all. Yuck.

I'm actually obsessed with that bathroom. I think it's great!
I'm sad for Drew, but not surprised. My fave relationships of hers were Fab from the Strokes and Justin Long, she seemed happy with both of them. Anyway, hopefully the divorce will be as peaceful as possible.

They only got engaged well after she was pregnant and I don't think that was by chance. I don't think he's a guy she would have married just for companionship if it wasn't certain that they were going to be able to have kids together. I remember when she was papped coming out of a doctor's office. That started speculation that she was pregnant (with her first daughter), which she never confirmed. LOL. I wasn't aware they hadn't been together that long. Makes me sad. Not that I want Drew's best friend to get her heart broken, but Jimmt Fallon needs to divorce and the two of them should just get together already. I keep reading blinds and hearing rumors that suggested that Jimmy was a hot mess behind the scenes due to his excessive partying. (Remember those two major injuries he mysteriously received?) He may need to calm down first. Someone mentioned Justin Long. Funny, I thought he was the one for Drew. I know they're very young, but she seemed to lose all interest her career, which makes me wonder if there was some pressure for her from her husband to "stay home." I vaguely remember her saying in a recent interview that it wasn't as if there were that many roles for her anymore now that she has gotten older. Oh, the curse of Hollywood. I wonder if she finished the conversion to Judaism. She seemed very serious about her husband and her commitment to her family. That's a good question!

Darn it. I hope our little Drew is doing okay. I reckon she was referring to Spielberg in this interview. Re the bathroom, I love the shower! But the wall treatment and, really, the entire rest of the room is completely OPPRESSIVE.

Re roles for women, doesn't she have her own production company? I seem to remember Never Been Kissed being her first production (a very nice feel good movie). I can see her taking a little time off to be with the kids, which makes a lot of sense and wisdom of you can financially afford to.
She has her kids, good friends, it looks like a wise confident, and is definitely a survivor. I think she will swing for the bleachers on this one. Being trapped in an unhappy situation sucks. I'm happy for her she is moving forward rather than stagnanting.

I think sometimes people want that "white picket fence" stuff because they're told via the media and society, that's what they're supposed to have, it's what's "normal." Some people get married and have kids and realize that relationships and kids take work, and they realize it's not for them, just like some people go into a career and realize it's not for them.

Bringing this over from the Divorce Pool thread: Oh man. I hope this young lady [Frances Bean Cobain] has people looking out for her. I thought one of those people would have been Drew, because I vaguely remembered hearing that she was supposed to the the godmother to Frances Bean. However, I found this quote in a recent interview: Why does this not surprise me about Courtney? ETA: Re roles for women, doesn't she have her own production company? It's from More magazine.
