I wonder if she does regret leaving GA too. Her success in movies was when she was on the show. She hasn't has a hit since she left.
And the relatively low budgets for rom coms no longer guarantee that they make money.
And it's the way she left. She pissed a lot of people off. She supposedly left because she became a new mom and wanted to just be a mom, yet went straight to work on a movie.
It's a hard transition from TV to movies, when one actually becomes a true movie star. Not just an actress that works in movies. I mean, one who actually makes it to the platinum A List. The only person to have done that was Clooney.
I remember last year, Heigl saying she'd love to do a story arc on Izzie to see where she's at and it was welcomed with a resounding thud from Shonda and even Ellen Pompeo. Hell, to the no, is pretty much what was said.

Yeah, I think it's the way she left that hurt her. She decided she wanted off the show not long after she threw a very public hissy fit for a raise. Now, it doesn't bother me she wanted a raise. Hey, the whole cast was getting one. But to take it public and to demand more money than the leads is poor form. Wanting off the show less than two years after agreeing to contract extension to get the raise made her look even worse. She might have overcame this if her way of quitting hadn't been to just not show up for work when scheduled.
Yeah, I think it's safe to say she now regrets leaving the show and maybe even regrets how she did it. I rolled my eyes when I read her desire to return because she was going on about how said it was Izzie really didn't get a proper goodbye. She didn't get a proper goodbye because you didn't show up for work!
Though with all that said a part of me can't really blame KH for wanting off the show. Shonda had her character thinking she was having sex with a ghost for God's sake! But there's a right way to leave a show and KH's way wasn't it.
Yeah, he's the only one I can think of the top of my head that has become bonafide A-list movie star. I'm sure there are others but it just doesn't happen often. But look at how Clooney left ER. He gave his bosses ample notice, he didn't demand any pay raises, and he showed up for work when scheduled! He even came back for a quick cameo and one episode in the show's final season! The man may be arrogant but he is humble enough to know that show gave him his big break.

I think she picked some bad movies as well to star in. If you want to be a bona-fide movie star, do not star in a movie with Ashton Kutcher.

I would never guess she's only 33. WHAT?!?!?! I'm not kidding, I didn't know she was only 33! I thought she was 40!

Her outfit kinda bums me out, like, it's someone's idea of "fancy." I am really no fashionista; I love the Gap and Ann Taylor. I rarely really take much notice of clothes/style. I leave that to others that know about fashion, etc. But her outfit just seems so wrong and not even in an ironic way? It's kind of bumpkiny, all together. I hate the Sex and the City episode where Carrie is ribbing the Office Space guy about writing about a woman in NYC wearing a scrunchy, but yeah, her outfit is kinda like that. I think she is is lovely woman, but I think I look younger than her and I'm 5 years older. Doesn't matter I guess but it just seems like a huge misstep. You know who I could see wearing this? Chloe Sevigny. She could probably pull it off (oh, Nicky!).

It kind of seems like looking middle-aged has always been one of her dreams. She really seems to aspire to that sort of look...on purpose.

I wonder if her bad fashion sense comes from her sheltered upbringing. Didn't she grow up in a conservative Mormon family?

Marie Osmond doesn't dress this bad. Besides, Katherine has posed nude for men's magazines and smokes like a chimney. I don't think she's that conservative.
As ikmccall said, it seems like she's trying to emulate her mom's style.

Stockings! With open-toed shoes?! And patterned stockings at that? WTF? She looks awful. She clearly did her own hair and makeup, she looks absolutely nuts. Someone wearing that much makeup should NOT be that shiny. She can't dress for sh*t. And I agree with the poster upthread, I'm not a fashionista but damn, I know what does and doesn't look flattering on me. She looks like she was dressed by her spinster aunts for the ball to meet Prince Charming.
