She was a child model and actress, and bared her backside in a movie when she was 14, so her upbringing can't have been that conservative.

When she was younger she kind of looked like Natalie Portman.
Now that she's into matronly hair and make-up, she seems to be morphing into what Ellen Burstyn looks like now. I think Ellen Burstyn might have a better wardrobe, however.

If I were a celebrity the first thing I'd do would be hire a stylist. I would love to have someone else, a professional, shop and put outfits together for me. Yes, there are still badly dressed celebs on the red carpet who work with stylists, but she could find someone to work with that could help her achieve a look that is fashionable and age appropriate. Jennifer Garner usually dresses a little sloppy in her daily life but she always looks put together for premieres and award shows and events. I guess Katherine must think she looks good in these horrible outfits.
It seems 40% of being a successful actress these days is looking good in designer clothes. Maybe if Katherine improved her look her career might bounce back a little.

It kind of seems like looking middle-aged has always been one of her dreams. She really seems to aspire to that sort of look...on purpose. YES. Like as if someone told her that this is what a wife and mother is supposed to look like.

I agree -- that outfit looks like something a 45-year-old woman trying to wangle an invite for her and her husband to join the local country club might put together for New Year's Eve. It screams "trying too hard."

Is she even a good actress? She reminds me of the actress from Traffic (Erika Christensen?). Toted as the next It girl in Knocked Up and then...nada. I think her best bet is getting back on TV or looking for an ensemble cast in a movie--I can't imagine she'll be headlining anymore, not anytime soon.

Benny and the Jets was on the radio today, which led to a discussion with my daughter about 27 Dresses, which led to what ever happened to Katherine Heigl? The last thing we remembered her in was One for the Money, which we didn't think was that bad.

I'm in the 45 range, and I would never, ever wear that shitty outfit.

I thought she was a really good actress until I realized she is not Elizabeth Banks.

Erika Christensen was touted as a next big thing? Wow, I must have missed that. She's always been the actress who looks like Julia Stiles to me except Erika is a good actress. Her performance in Traffic stuck with me for days. I hated that movie and have blocked all of it out except for her awesome performance. As for Katherine, I thought she was the best actor on Grey's in the first 2 seasons and she's been better than Kate Hudson in her romcoms. She'd do fine in another ensemble piece on TV.
