I don't see what she has to be "grateful" for. She did an honest day's work and got her pay. They didn't do her a favor.

I'm a little surprised so many people found Knocked Up sexist against women - I actually found it a little sexist towards men!
I mean I found it funny but I'm a little tired of all these flicks that present men as dim, childish losers compared with the intelligent, confident and mature heroines.
On topic I think it was probably bad form for her to be publicly critical, especially given the films success.

I always thought Shirley Appleby's wooden acting is what made Roswell suck so much. Heh, can't we agree that it was a variety of reasons? I somewhat shamefully admit that I used to be an SA/Liz Parker fangirl in high school -- mainly because I related to her goody-two-shoes character more than the others. But her fans scared me away, they're so dang humorless in their obsession. I don't think Katherine should be one of those "forever grateful, never ever ever say a remotely critical word about anyone, EVER" people, but she really needs to stop acting like she's above her work. That Roswell stunt that an earlier poster mentioned? Totally unprofessional and self-absorbed. Then again, the entire Roswell set sounded a bit nightmarish, so I really feel for the poor crew members who had to put up with the actors' egos. Katherine was probably in good company there. Can we start a pool on whatever criticism she's bound to start for 27 Dresses? "27 Dresses in sexist. It implies that women need to be married in order to feel fulfilled. I had a hard time loving this movie." Although I do think the movie sounds dumb.

Not really. He hired her, she worked, she got paid. I don't feel grateful to my previous empoyer because I make more money in a subsequent job.

There were dozens of actresses who would've killed for that role and KH was a total non-entity when it came to film. They gave her her big break and have said nothing but amazing things about her, so I think she comes off as pretty damn ungrateful.

I'm surprised people are so worked up over what she said about Knocked Up. She said that "ninety-eight percent of the time it was an amazing experience." It isn't like she was crapping all over Apatow. I'm sure he already knew her opinion on how the women were portrayed, anyway.

Also, she has a point and more importantly every right to speak her mind. Plus, wasn't the role offered to a few actresses who didn't want to play the part (one of them being Anne Hathaway)? I don't believe this will have an repercussions at all for her. If she brings in money producers won't give a damn about what she thinks or says in interviews.

But it's still not a good idea to bite the hand that feeds especially in Hollywood where people's opinion of you can change on a dime. For her sake I hope she's at least a joy to work with now and has grown out of her sourness and meanness which she exhibited on Roswell, especially to Emilie de Ravin.
