I know people like to rag on celebs because of the fame and the money and whatnot, but can you imagine being deluged with requests, as most sports and action stars (especially of comic book franchises) undoubtedly are, to meet hundreds of terminally ill kids and folks like this over the course of your career? It must be incredibly humbling and draining, and that's not even counting the time and effort it takes to go do these meet-ups. This was really kind of him, and generally I think he's an asshole.

I also think it is cool that he didn't issue a press release saying he was going to Denver and there aren't pictures of him arriving or meeting with the families. It seems he is there because he cares about the people involved, not his own pr/image. Can you image how Tom Cruise would treat this.
ETA: Just saw the link ... but those aren't paparazzi photos right? I was referring to pap photos.

I love everything about this post and can't add much else to it. This will certainly help his image even without the obvious PR machinery behind it. That said I like Bale. Always have. It's good that other people see that he's not a horrible human being.

He is so awesome. I never understood why people disliked him because of his rant/meltdown. Being intense, a perfectionist, or having anger issues does not make someone a bad person (necessarily). And on a shallow note, he looks hot in the photo with the staff.

That was really awesome of Bale to visit one of the victims.

Lovely gesture from a lovely man. The Denver Post has an updated story. Also, a local Fox station was at the memorial when Christian and his wife went to pay their respects. Story and video report here. Clarifies that the ambulance arrival story was incorrect. delilahjones all the pics that we see in the hospital are from patients' and staff's Facebook/Twitter, etc (no pap photos). Per a tweet I saw earlier, media are not allowed in the hospital.

Thanks! That's what I thought. I have always loved him (I generally avoid his thread because I don't want to know to much about him - this site has killed a lot of celeb crushes! ) and I think he is a fantastic actor. This story only reinforces the love.

He really is batman!
Yeah, I don't understand why people were so down on him for his outburst, particularly after his apology. We all make mistakes, and his work is clearly something he cares about.
