Sorry guys, I thought I read the 'supportive friend' comment as being from Willie Garson. I know he and Molly Shannon getting mixed up is a common mistake. ;-)

Ha- it sure is on my end ;p
I think I can echo WestEndGirl's sentiments. Not that I have been through that awfulness, but I have seen it play out. I also probably have bias because I really hate fakeness, and social media grandstanding/feigning support(I see it as SUCH a lazy way out). If you really care- do something that shows it is genuine. Now, as some far off work colleague I totally understand the obligatory "thoughts and prayers". The issue I have is SJP acts all shocked (clutching her heart, tears welling in her eyes)when the subject of Kim saying they aren't friends comes up. Yet, her actions prove the contrary. I hate that sh^t.
I say this as someone who actually likes SJP. I kinda relate to her pedantic verbose ways. She tries to sound thoughtful and intelligent. Nothing wrong with that (but it can be annoying- and come across as try-hard).
Also- more bias from this: I F%CKING hated the last movie. Like with the fire of a thousand suns. Its undercurrents of racism, sexism, and homophobia actually shocked me. (I loved the show, the 1st movie was meh- some parts fine- others not so great, but it was whatever- but that 2nd movie was so bad I walked away really angry at all involved) I am so glad someone said no to a #3. So, that makes me on Kim's side irrelevant of what went down.

I thought the desire to do a third movie was to undo the stank of the second one. Like, even they knew it was bad and that's not how they wanted these characters to go out. So I understand the excitement of getting "the girls" together one last time for a - hopefully - proper sendoff. To have one of them balk is disappointing.
That said, I agree with those who say do it without Kim. Her character had cancer once, it would bebelievable to have them open the third movie talking about Samantha's cancer coming back.
Regarding the feud, I think it's telling that if it's a work-based feud, why is Kim the only one who thought SJP was a mean girl? If SJP was a bitch, surely others would have stories to tell.
And on that, until two minutes ago, I thought Evan Handler played Smith Jerrod, and Willie Garson was Charlotte's husband. Heh.

SATC always had some questionable undercurrents, about race especially... it's kind of like Girls or Woody Allen movies with the super white version of NYC. The piece of gossip that I always remember is that supposedly Blair Underwood's role came about because Cynthia Nixon had been pushing for ages for the show to finally include a non-white recurring love interest.

For me personally, I don’t want a third movie. Yes, the second one sucked. The first was not great but I think some of that had to do with it being way too long.
I guess for me, some things should just end. They’re in their fifties and sixties on the show and in real life. While there is nothing wrong with that, where can their stories go? I don’t want to see another minute of Carrie and Big keeping us guessing if they’ll ever be happy. Steve and Miranda and also Charlotte and Harry seemed to be pretty happy. I just think at this point in their lives, any storylines are going to be ridiculous or too dramatic and I don’t want to see either.

Movie #2 is always supposed to be terrible and movie #3 is supposed to be the best one ever! It's the sequel rule. If SJP is correct that they have a wonderful, heartwarming script for movie #3, then they should just redistribute Kim's plotlines to other characters and add a plotline about the women dealing with losing a close friend to cancer. That's a realistic thing for women in their 50s to be dealing with. I don't know what else they haven't covered at this point. I think SATC knows that leaving out one of the four women would make the sequel look low rent.

My DEEP concern is that SJP also said the 2nd one was amazing!! She said it was fun and really timely and they were so excited for this amazing script!!!
So- sorry- but they really messed up with 2, to the point where I doubt I'd see a third, especially without Samantha. I always loved that she was the ONE character who actually stayed single and didn't just become a housewife.

Team Kim.
She's made it clear they're not friends. She's made it clear she doesn't want to do a movie. She's made it clear she thinks SJP is a lying liar who lies.
Her Twitter rant was excessive but if you (SJP) are aware this woman's not your biggest fan, send private condolences and leave her the hell alone.

I read that Cynthia Nixon also shared her condolences on Kim’s post and that Kim responded warmly to her... I think that’s pretty funny. I wouldn’t say I pick a side in this one, though. SJP can be annoying (or maybe my hatred of Carrie Bradshaw is the issue), but Kim has always seemed kooky. Maybe they just clash, like Bea Arthur and Betty White did.

The two main ones being- while I liked SATC when I first saw it as a teenager, when I rewatched as an adult, I could NOT believe that everyone idolized Carrie Bradshaw. She is easily to me, one of the least likeable protagonists of a show ever. Bea and Betty didn’t get along? This hurts my heart to know this.
