I don't know if there is a character I've loathed more in my multi-decade history of watching SNL than Boss with Baby Body. Also, I don't have a coherent thesis for the rest of this post, so I'll just say the whole season feels like a major rut. The cast seems like they should be doing better. The occasional songs are fairly good (I liked last night's Thanksgiving song) but Weekend Update sucks. I also hate Baby Boss. And I get what you're saying about a rut. Something is off about this season. Most of the time it feels like they're performing the sketches in an empty room. There is rarely any audience reaction.

I only saw the first music act, but thought it was pretty good. I liked the home for Thanksgiving song and Black Annie, but I swear, Baby Boss ruins every episode. Can someone explain it to me? I really don't get it. The physicality. How close Bennet comes to actually imitating how toddlers move. How people in staid, conservative environments react to someone they have to defer to being foolish and inappropriate. And the incongruity of a baby being a CEO, but that part of the joke wore off pretty quickly. It's not for everyone, though. I didn't see the point of 90% of Kristen Wiig recurring characters. And it's better than Beck Bennet's video stuff, in which the entire "joke" is "Hey, remember those stoner kids in high school? If you went to a middle-class school in the nineties?"

I love Kyle Mooney's Chris Fitzpatrick videos, although the one from last night wasn't as funny as the "Chris for Senior Class President" video. I also really liked the ladies' "Back Home Ballers."
SNL is clearly in a transitional period and they've gone through it many times before, so I'm not worried. Fixing Weekend Update will go a long way.

I don't mind dumb physical humor (I'm a Molly Shannon fan) but Baby Boss is either too subtle or not boundary-pushing enough for my taste.

"Have you ever been called a bitch by Harriet Tubman?" Best line of the night.
My favourite sketch 'Full Brain'. Seeing the dog from Ubu Productions made me laugh out loud. I also liked the 'Fresh Prince' lyrics and the random movie quotes. The other day the word "Kolkena" just popped into my brain for no reason. I had no idea why or what it was, so I googled it. Apparently I have snippets from A Woman Scorned just rolling around in my mental Rolodex.

I really enjoyed the Star Wars trailer parody. Me too. Taran Killam totally nailed Harrison Ford's voice and mannerisms.

I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked last night! I rarely bother with SNL, but this time i made it the hole way through, and I wasn't event drinking! However, I was live watching the ONTD thread, and felt like I was the only one not hate watching. Maybe it felt fresher for me because I rarely watch.
That dude's brain has a lot of the same info mine does, and just the other day I was mad at my iPad over passwords, lol. That weekend update was really drab and flat, but the lady who went on that shroom rant was amaze balls. Plus, James Franco has a professional polish to his approach to skits that makes him easier to watch than a lot of other guests.
Nicki Minage was fine to good in her skits, too, but her songs were weird. Why pick that second tune, when two of the three vocalists aren't performing? (Also, the lyric video for that song has been getting A LOT of shit for appropriating Nazi imager eye.)

We caught it on Hulu yesterday. The music wasn't on though which was odd. Usually we can see the whole episode without any cuts the very next day, it's later on they remove the music performances.
I lost it when it showed Luke's walker on the Star Wars trailer.
