I don't know if Jared's suffering from Depression, or Exhaustion or just hit a wall energy wise... but before the cons he and several other cast members were involved in THIS! (Very pic heavy site- lots of muddy, sweaty people!) Maybe diving straight into back to back conventions right after literally crawling through the mud was too much for Jarpad. I mean, the other guys involved made it- but other than Jensen, everyone else was a past cast member who wasn't wrapping up filming just before diving into the mud and then showering just in time to hit the convention circuit. (P.S. If you scroll through the pics, down near the end there's one of Osric Chau crawling though the mud with this look of fear/excitement that is about the most adorable thing I've ever seen. Kevin never grew on me completely, but Osric is a total doll!) Aaaaand once again, the things the guys get up to off the show is far more interesting than anything that happens on the show.

They killed Death? Death?!?! I'm out. I loved this show from the first episode, but I'm done now. ( At the very least, Death had a delicious Mexican final meal)

I thought his final meal was hilarious! And their fight was interesting... till the happy-ish ending that negated it. How does one kill death? Sigh.
In other news, Rowena's arc was cool this week.

See, maybe I'm naive, but I'm having a hard time believing they really killed Death. He didn't have a very satisfying erm.... well 'him' throe. I love Death too, and his fast food fetish was just about the best thing about him. That and his absolute disdain for Winchester drama and angst. So, I'm hoping he's not really gone, but just left out of sheer disappointment in Dean and horror at the state of Sam's hair (although again it actually looked better after Dean punched him a couple times. Sam's hair must be constantly exposed to random violence to look good)
But other than the possible, inexcuseable death of Death- I enjoyed the last episode. It wiped a lot of slates clean, and Rowena now has the power and possibilty to be the badass baddie they never (and again inexcusably) let Abaddon be. I'm hoping they didn't have Castiel kill Crowley... but then again, I'm the girl who still isn't convinced Death is dead!
I don't know what this Darkness is but it was awesome watching it come out and eat the Impala. I don't know how it will change the story, and really unless they get some new writers I don't have confidence they will do anything cool at all with it. But I think at the very least it gives them a CHANCE to start fresh. Battling the Darkness has to take more than all the moping and hand wringing and angsting they've been doing for so many years. I just hope the Darkness doesn't get personified into corporate Republican douchebags buying up Real Estate and introducing harmful food additives into the population ala the Leviathans.
UGH! I should be out, but I'm always curious as to what they'll do next. I'm disappointed 9 times out of 10... and outright disgusted as often as that. But I keep assuming they'll do SOMETHING interesting. I know the glory days are LONG gone and dead. But I still have such a lingering fondness for the actors involved that it compels me to want to watch them do stuff... even stupid, badly written stuff.
Maybe the Darkness will scrap EVERYTHING and blow all the boys (and few remaining girls) into a paraelle Universe where they can start over completely. Like, they can get tossed back in time and get to wear powdered wigs (which instantly solves the problem of Sam's hair) and it gives them a good excuse to have a Sleepy Hollow cross over. Bringing in Orlando Jones for ANY reason, would be a great start. Or else, they're tossed into a French Mistake type Universe (where Orlando Jones could still exist)- maybe not where they are the actors who play Sam and Dean- but just that everything that happened before never happened. And they can bring back some of the many folks they lost because either in this Universe they never died OR they're just different people. Maybe Kevin Tran lives as a kick ass hunter rather than a helpless prophet. I'm not sure I'd want Charlie back, but maybe if she was back as something other than the Manic Pixie Mary Sue she was it would be ok. Definitely would want Gabriel, Rufus, Bobby and DUH Death back in the mix.
They had some promo for Poltergeist featuring Richard Speight and Rob... last name escapes me. Gabriel and Chuck, let's just say that. But some promo where they were in night vision hunting a Poltergeist. I didn't actually watch the whole bit because I was at my parents house and their standoffish cat FINALLY decided she liked me that night so I was busy petting and loving up on her and missed the bulk of the action. BUT it did make me think. They have Richard and Rob around ALL the time. They seem to be at every convention and always available for Misha's side project silliness and even crawled through the mud with the gang a couple weeks ago. WHY aren't they actually back on the show?!?!! The brief episode where they teased bringing Gabriel- except it was all a trick from Boogertron broke my heart, y'all. But this show has no real limits to what they COULD do. If they can bring back burned and mostly eaten by ghouls Adam (and then lose him again) they can bring back anyone.
But, here I'm doing the writers job for them and making things better in my mind than it would ever be in reality. Still, I think they might have given themselves a chance with this Darkness thing. It really could give them a blank (albeit Dark) slate to work with.
And if nothing else, maybe it'll eat some of Sam's hair... and their clothes.

I predict that they'll bring back Lucifer and Michael to fight the Darkness.

I would FLOVE them to bring back Lucifer and Michael! Lucifer especially... but bringing back Michael would solve that pesky problem of that half-brother they keep forgetting that's stuck in the cage. Not that I want Adam tagging along at all- I just want them to acknowledge he exists once and a while. In the meantime, remember what I was saying about the things the cast get up to behind the scenes being WAY better than anything that happens on screen? Yup! SO! MUCH! AWESOME!!! SQUEEEEEEE!!! Kevin as Sam, Chuck as Cain, Dancing Lucifer! (They even managed to work in a Futureama gag!) *Mildly NSFW in the sense that you may wind up dancing at your desk! They have the most awesome cast EVER! Most awesome cast on the worst show... I can barely wrap my head around the squandered potential *sniff* But in the meantime, I'll just watch 'em dance!

That video is more entertaining than the show has been in years.

She had Dean/Jensen's moves down pat. I didn't recognize some of the guest stars, but enjoyed the slow reveal of the leads. And yes, dancing Lucifer was awesome.

It's coming back on October 7th. How much do you want to bet that Carver, King Of The Anticlimax will wrap up The Darkness plot by the 4th episode, the more better to focus on backdoor pilots featuring annoying teenage girls?
