AWW! This past episode was so cute! And old school style case, no politics, brotherly moments in the car and two words said between Sam and Dean that haven't been said since probably Season 4. Good times! And feel good fun! I wish I'd saved this episode for last in my TV consumption last night because I also watched AHS which brought me way down :-(!
This was actually enjoyable- and that's not an adjective I usually can use to describe SPN. I'd say "More like this, please!" But I know they'll never comply. They apparently are only allowed one awesome episode a year, and they've just blown their wad here. But hey! Great episode! YAY!!
The only thing that was off were some of the camera shots. I'm not really spoiling anything here, but there was a butterfly hair pin that went missing. And when they focused on it, it looked huge- so much so that I couldn't imagine how the woman who lost it had actually missed something as big as that. But when it came up again later- it was tiny! There was also a close up shot of what looked like a bloody pocket knife which turned out to be a bloody machete. So I don't know if they had some Alice in Wonderland camera lens going on of if they were trying to be artistic and surreal- but it was weird and disorienting. Again, if that's what they were going for- SUCCESS!!!
But other than that, it was really good. Maybe not the best ever. Maybe not even Top Ten material. But SOOOOO much better than what they've been coming out with lately.
Best part- Sam changing Bob Seger's lyrics to match Baby's model year. D'awwwww!!!
Car feels!!

Yes, it was a good episode. Funny how eliminating angel politics and having the brothers get along improves an episode.

Yeah, this episode was all right. Nice Season One style 'haunting' with enough for the boys to solve and work out without seeming TOO stupid. I did like that they spelled out that different people will react differently without a soul. I'd always suspected as much just in my own head canon. So, I like that they're actually addressing it on the show. I felt bad for the soulless guy- feeling so lost and also realizing there was nothing for him to do but turn himself in and stay put in prison. (Although, being in prison doesn't guarantee he won't hurt anyone **cough cough** OZ **cough cough**)
Maybe Sam could have given him his soul. Soulless Sam acted differently by being a sharper hunter, less concerned with oogie feelings and spending great amounts of screen time shirtless. Soulless Sam was great! :-)!!

Another decent episode! Color me shocked. Even Metatron didn't irritate me too much. Probably because he got a well deserved beatdown.
I loved Crowley's attempts at fatherhood.

Yeah, I'm actually enjoying this show and more than that, the plots are holding my interest. Who'da thought? I still don't dig it when they do things like show the demons and Crowley having Board meetings in Hell- but at least those scenes aren't taking up the half the episode like they used to. And while Boogertron DID irritate me and always does- he got the crap beat out of him which was deserved and actually proved slightly useful to what the boys are figuring out. I'm not sure what Dean's connection is with the Darkness (right now- it almost seems like she just has the hots for him) But there's gotta be something deeper involving the Mark- which she has and he apparently doesn't anymore. But they're still connected somehow. I'm also liking Sam's visions and how they're just vague enough to get us curious until they show more and more glimpses of Spoiler: {Spoiler}The Cage! The Cage!! OMG!!! Lucifer's Cage!!! Please Please PLEASE bring back Lucifer!! Ok, Michael's in there too and so they might bring back Michael- which would not be as cool. But still The Cage THE CAGE!!! Oh, and Hell looks like Hell again. When they showed Bobby in Hell a couple seasons ago it looked more like a cheap hotel room. So YAY! Real Hell! The Cage! Maybe, oh Maybe LUCIFER!!! YAY!!

OMG! What is this show doing to me! Is it actually...dare I say it... GOOD again?!?!?! This episode was PERECTION!! Not only a total season one throw back- but actually genuinely creepy!! All the masks were great and the way the killers moved was so chilling! I should have been gasping and cringing- but I was smiling the whole time because I LOVE things that should make me gasp and cringe if that makes sense. I guess it was because the episode was totally doing it for me and I was so pleased that it was SUPERNATURAL doing it- because that hasn't happened in a long while.
I mean, I mention this a lot, but I LOVE horror- but I'm also very jaded about horror so it takes a lot to give me those heebie jeebies. Sleepy Hollow did it for me a couple times in its first season. American Horror Story has had its moments. But I its been so long since SUPERNATUAL gave me those ever so glorious goosebumps! Loved it!!
The masks and the jump scares had already made me their bitch (Heck, just the bunny on its own was perfection) But Sam and Dean were great and DONNA was AWESOME! I liked her initially as a possible one off character. Liked her more when she was paired up with Jodie. But this time I LOVED her on her own! Her shooting down doofy Doug at every turn. Her Crossfit pride. Her sadness over the possessed kid (Even Sam and Dean lost that sympathy long ago) She's great! And they haven't killed her off yet so even better!
Plus, Sam kicked another clown's ass. Awwwww!

I'm done. Removing my bookmark. Deleted from DVR. Maybe I'll watch the series finale, in 20 years, when I'm on social security.
