I will always have a soft spot for her because of "Election" & "Pleasantville". She was good in "Wild", but the performance isn't award worthy to me.

I love Election. She was awesome. I like to think its because there is a healthy dose of Tracy Flick in Reese.
And here's a shameful confession, I actually will watch Sweet Home Alabama every time its on. Why? I don't know. I know, intellectually, it's predictable, but damn if Fred Ward doesn't crack me up. "You can't ride two horses with one ass, sugar bean!"

My soft spot for Laura Jean is from Legally Blonde/Legally Blonde II. And for the lesser known Paul Newman flick Twilight.

I am rooting for her and Jake G. to win the Oscars so that they can have the deliciously awkward moments of having to pose together as exes. I haven't seen Wild, though, so I have no idea if she actually deserves to win for it (and while Jake was amazing in Nightcrawler, I doubt he will win, although he should at least be nominated).

I don't think she has a big chance at winning, from what I hear the Oscar is Julianne Moore's to lose. Reese has already won and Julianne hasn't so that gives her a bit of an edge.

What the heck? Sheryl Crow has a kid? I missed that, lol! Sheryl adopted two boys IIRC. One is named Wyatt. [/ot]

She was interviewed on 60 Minutes last night. Oddly, there was no mention of her arrest last year.

I caught the 60 Minutes interview--it wasn't too bad, but Reese was perfectly groomed and coiffed, as was her mother, and there was a lot of talk about Reese's grandmother (for whom she was named, in case you missed the two or three reminders during the interview). She died when Reese's mother was young (just like in Wild!) and both Reese and her mom said that Wild was a deeply personal movie for them both.
Am I wrong to wish that the Sony hack had dug up some dirt on RW? She just doesn't come off as genuine to me.

"You can't ride two horses with one ass, sugar bean!" I love both of those movies, and would you please scoot over and let me watch Sweet Home Alabama with you? I love it partly because it's a nice juicy romcom; partly because I met my husband when I was 11; partly because Josh Lucas, Patrick Dempsey, and Ethan Embry are very nice to look at; partly because I love that Reece's character isn't a total Mary Sue and has to redeem herself and still doesn't always come off as the good guy; partly because Fred Ward's character reminds me a little bit of my dad; and, finally, partly because Candace Bergen is hilarious.
