Plus Kanye dipped his pen into Amber's ink himself, so he should just STFU.

Kim's his goddess, but only because he's a god...until he fixates on another women, who will then be elevated to goddess, and you see what is happening to Amber Rose? Multiply that by a hundred. Poor Kim won't know what hit her. She doesn't have the resources to do anything but cower in the corner. I think his psychosis causes him to switch his "obsession of the moment" from goddess to master deceiver, because how else could she have fooled him into thinking she was perfect? The most perfect match for his perfection? ... And who does that sound like? It sounds like Charlie Sheen. And at least Charlie's issues can be blamed on drugs and a bad medical diagnosis - Kanye ain't got that excuse.

There's something about how it always gets brought up and thrown in her face that just doesn't sit well with me. It was a long time ago and while that may have made her famous, she's built a brand since then. I just get really antsy about women's sexual pasts/histories/decisions being held up as evidence of anything forever. I pretty much agree with all of this. People always say Kim is famous because of her sex tape, but I don't think that's true at all. Ray J was a nobody, not someone who could get a girl famous by being filmed having sex with her. She didn't get a reality show because of the sex tape. A lot of her fans now, especially the younger women, have probably never even seen that tape. In my opinion her fame has to do with good timing (especially where social media is concerned) and lots of smart marketing/publicity, and little to nothing to do with her sexual history. In the very first episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians, Kim brings up the sex tape. Its a segment on how they will address it on the Tyra Banks show. While several in that social circle were in reality shows at the time (anyone remember Brittany Gastineau's?), I would say Kris took that sex tape fame and turned it into the monster it is today. For funsies, here is the first episode (sex tape talk starts at 3 mins or so)Should Kim continue to be shamed for her past? No. But her husband, who describes himself as a trendsetter, is very vocally shaming other women. He is perpetuating this idea that women shouldn't be sexual, and they are somehow lower if their pasts do not live up to a man's standards. That shit would not fly in my relationship.

I'm not understanding the "Kanye brought up Amber being a stripper so you have to mention Kim's sex tape to school him" line of thought. Kanye is a major, gaping, misogynistic aaaaaaaasshoooooooole for reasons that have nothing to do with his spouse's sex tape. Trying to shame women for sex work is wrong, full stop, end of story. Whether or not he's a hypocrite for doing it strikes me as irrelevant given the inherent dipshittiness* of the act.
*autocorrect tried to fix this but I will not be silenced by the ghost of Steve Jobs!

Exactly. Even if the argument is that Kim promoted and profited from her sex tape as a business move, it's still wrong to shame her for it.

Yep, this. Find a way to call out Kanye without shaming and bringing other women down. Don't hang his shit on Kim. Amber was a stripper. Kim has a sex tape. So what? When we throw that in his face it's like we're agreeing that those things are on a spectrum that is inherently bad and shameful for women. We're agreeing to his hierarchy.
And why does Kanye get to be the gate keeper of what is and is not okay behavior for women? Why is it okay for him to enjoy strippers, while women are bad for being one? Call out Kanye for acting like he's the one who gets to determine when and for whom all of this matters.

I don't know who shamed Kim for her past on here, but I must say I'm happy that Amber went with shaming* him in her response and did not attack anyone else like he did.
*Not that he should be ashamed of his preferences.

Is Kanye going to talk smack about Kim like this if they break up? God, I hope so! eta- Because I would love to hear the whackadoodle stuff he says. Epic craziness. I'm not wishing them ill, and I'm not hating on Kim.

When I brought up the sex tape judgement, I was referring to how the radio show host talked about it in a link a few pages back. It wasn't anyone shaming her right now in this thread, although I see her called all sorts of names in her thread.
It's dead wrong for him to speak about Amber and her sex life. I reject the idea of any man being the arbiter or judge of any woman's sexuality. It makes me nuts. I really think he is batshit but in no way do I excuse his words or actions.
I guess that is the crux of it for me. It's just wrong to use women's sexuality against them. It makes my skin crawl.
I wonder if Kim has ever worried about his batshittiness turning on her. He's got to be a hot mess to deal with on an intimate level and I wonder if that ever scares her.
