"Live While We're Young" was a little racy to me coming from a boy band: I know we only met but let's pretend it's love? Tonight let's get some? Apparently the latter line is censored on Radio Disney. But considering the stories about them, well, at least they're being honest?

I used to think Harry was the cutest, but then he got those weird-ass tattoos on his chest and now I think Niall is the cutest.
So, I was reading on ONTD about poor Louis's girlfriend and all the hate she gets from the fans who think that Louis and Harry have a secret love for the ages going on and she's just a beard. I can't believe they called her university and told the people there it was homophobic to have her as a student!

You guys, I received a survey at work the other day from a high school kid asking me to discuss whether the Beatles or One Direction has made a bigger impact on culture and the music industry (for a school paper). Is this a valid question? I don't get what the big deal is with these dudes. However, I am over 30, so maybe I don't get it because I'm an old.

I was a big *NSYNC fan back in the day but I had the presence of mind and the clarity to never put them on par with the Beatles. I just...wtf, man. Sometimes a fun pop group is just a fun pop group. Stop trying to make it deeper.

Until recently whenever I heard their name I thought it was the name of an anime show. Even now when I hear their name my mind immediately runs to that thought. I guess it is official. I am now out of the youth culture loop.

I just have to giggle when they are referred to as "Wand Erection" at Jezebel. Love it. Also, yes, the lyrics to that "Live While We're Young" song are a little racy. I'm just going to try to remember that George Michael's "I Want Your Sex" came out when I was young and impressionable and as much as I loved it, it didn't make me go haywire. As a mom, it does make me slightly uncomfortable to hear that in the car with my son.

Their songs are catchy. Their videos are also color-coordinated well. That's what I remember sticking out to me when one of their videos was playing on the tv. The bright colors of the videos helped to register them in my memory. They have good marketing working in their favor.
Have The Wanted made a dent yet in the rivalry? I can tell the fellows from One Direction apart. Except for Siva from , I have trouble differentiating between the fellows in The Wanted.
Edited to add:
Harry is the same age as Conor Kennedy, but I find Taylor Swift's relationship with Harry less weird given his ample experience with women (well, I'm guessing he has ample experience after ONTD updated me on his romantic life ) and their similar career experiences. In this particular dynamic Taylor actually seems to be the less experienced one, and I forget that she's older (given that she's only 4 years older than Harry, I don't think it matters that she is, but given his Lothario reputation I do think of her as the younger one despite her 50 million dollar bank account).

Harry looks a LOT like my younger half-brother (like, a LOT, down to the foofy hair) so it weirds me out to hear about his lothario-esque ways. I dig their music. They make super fun pop songs that put me in a good mood. And they're British! Yay!

I don't think so and I don't think there was ever really any competition there. The Wanted guys are not nearly as cute and likable and their tunes not as upbeat, poppy, and catchy as One Direction's. I did like that "Glad You Came" song, but other than that I don't think they will make a dent in the US charts.

TTMR keeps referring them as One Dimension which outrages our 14-year-old niece. He isn't doing it to be an annoying uncle -- he just keeps forgetting.
