1D the brand made that much or 1D the actual members? I thought those singing competition contracts from X-Factor or Idol were supposed to be horrible for the artists.
The best theory I've read today is that Louis dumped his long term girlfriend in Sydney last year right before he started hooking up with this girl, and that's where the name comes from. Lol, someone check that time line for me.

According to Forbes, 1D the band made that much in 2015. His individual net worth is estimated at over $ 200 mil. (You're always going to find discrepency on net worth, but that's the number I'm finding the most.) 1D is currently the highest paid musical act. As that first blurb from Forbes states, they make more per show and overall than the Rollingstones do right now. (OT: Holy crap, it's hard to type and link on an iPad, lol.) ETA: When you Google "1D brand net worth" the number estimate that comes up most is over $1 billion. Based on their tour numbers, that's not an unrealistic number.

Heh. I spent Christmas/New Year in Oz catching up with family. Sydney Rain perfectly describes the first week of January.

Apparently child support was settled. So, the mom is thirsty and was throwing out that $50,0000 number. But it's nice they settled this pretty easily, at least for now. And hopefully she has some sort of security/lives in a gated community, because his fans are crazy. (Also, damn. $6,000 a month to rent? I get why rich people might treat themselves to renting some place cool or renting while working, but at that cost, if you're a regular person? Maybe look into buying a house or condo? I'm probably being naive about LA prices. I live in MN, people! She pays 8 times what I do!) ONTD for the cut and paste. Actual news source.

I could be wrong, but isn't child support in a situation like this (I.e., she's not any type of spousal support) supposed to prevent the child from having a huge quality of life discrepancy when going from parent to parent? Because 6k/month makes sense if the goal is for the kid to have the same type of home with both parents (if anything it strikes me as slightly low given his current net worth, but probably more realistic given his worth over the next 18 years).

I thought so to. Either way, that girl and her immediate family is set for the next 18 years, or whenever the support ends.
It reminds me of how "ghetto families" were alleged to have acted in the 1970s, the female members getting knocked up to get the free money from the state.

Oh yeah, I'm sure $6,000 a month is reasonable in some circles. My mind is just boggling when thinking about my budget and rent, hah.

He found a place for her to live and set her up with the house and agreed on paying the rent, so in terms of her choosing to live with a $6k a month rent bill, that's on him.
Regardless if the money is all for the kid, she's still pretty set in living in a nice place she doesn't have to pay taxes on and won't need to work to support her child or bills. That's far better than most baby mamas get.

Damn, $150,000 a year child support in LA? For a guy with a net worth of 200 million? That's nothing. My son lives in LA and makes about that. He lives in a tiny 2 bedroom 1 bath rental in Burbank with his wife and baby. No lavish lifestyle, no security gates. Fair would be four times that. I'm with her mom. You make a child you need to support the child, and that is based on your income. His income may go down, but his child support will be adjusted when that happens.
It sounds like things are temporarily settled, which is good for everyone, but I wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't revisited in a year, with a substantial uptick for the new mom.
