Ouch, poor woman. I hope she makes a full recovery.

She looks fine. I had fully believed she cut up her face while falling down steps outside her home, even though I had a hard time imagining how that would happen. Now after seeing this, I can't help but question her story.

If the doctor used 40-50 stitches, then she must have had a platstic surgeon who used such tiny stitches to reduce scarring (for which I don’t blame her one iota). I did notice that she is not smiling in the photo with the fan. Perhaps she had some nerve damage with the injury and that is what is concerning.

She's not smiling and the far side of her face looks a bit swollen (as well as perhaps deliberately turned from the camera). 40-50 stitches is still a lot, even if they're tiny plastic surgeon stitches. I would agree that movement around that site might be jacked up due to nerve damage.

I saw that photo, too. I agree about the not smiling. Unless she's trying to be "smoldering" on the red carpet, Carrie always has a big pretty smile. Obviously I don't know her, but she doesn't strike me as the type to make up something or over-exaggerate, but who knows.
I had some horrible facial nerve issues a few years ago that ended up needing surgery and seem to be holding (knock wood). Mine wasn't from an accident but just thing moving around internally. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

I don’t see the benefit to her of lying. I’m sure they called in a plastic surgeon (they would for facial stitches for anyone) , but it’s still a lot. I’m sure it’s upsetting to her, hopefully once swelling and healing finishes it’ll be barely noticeable.

I’m no Carrie fan but I figure the injury must be bad enough that she felt the need to be honest about it. Perhaps she had heavy make up caked on in the photo, plus her face is turned to the side so it’s hard to judge for sure.
I’ve fallen at home and broken bones and gashed my nose pretty badly so she has my sympathy.

There is a blind item that says she was wasted out of her mind when this accident occurred. It wouldn't surprise me.

I know nothing about her but the first thing I thought when I read about the facial injury was “wonder if she was fucked up”. Because when you’re high/drunk you don’t think to break your fall well with your hands. Does she have a history of alcohol/substance use?

I had to have minor surgery on my face and I'm always completely convinced it's the most obvious thing ever. Others tell me they don't notice it unless I point it out.
I could see where she is afraid of this massive difference, and the rest of us just shrug.
