She really has balls of steel. I loved the trailer where she basically told the "church" to fuck themselves. Have to watch it. There were several old videos of her being interviewed about the greatness of the "church". She was all in. She explains how she got indoctrinated and then about the moment when she realized something just wasn't adding up. She believes she's responsible for bringing people in, therefore, causing pain and destruction. Bringing attention to the sham and/or getting even one person out, is why she's doing this. Remini for the win. I'll be honest, I deplored her before she denounced the church. But after I read her book and watched last night, it's almost understandable how the brainwashing happens. That she's, now, trying to take them down with her Balls of Steel makes everything aight. This episode is on A&E almost every day for the next 2 weeks. It's on Lifetime tonight at 11 and then again at 3 a.m. Forty five minutes of tea. Could've been longer.

I'll probably end up watching this out of curiosity, despite my immense dislike of Leah. It's really not surprising she'd be a bulldog against the Clams, as she was a bulldog FOR them when she was in.

I found the commercial so annoying, I couldn't watch. Maybe I'll try it out though.

I watched it on A&E's website last night, and I thought it was pretty good. Leah is really just the facilitator, and the episode was Amy Scobee's story. I've heard several aspects of it before, but I got a lot of new info too. It did really hit on the emotional cost of being in that cult and the pressure it puts on families.
Leah really is a bulldog, and god bless her on this front. Amy told a story of how when she was only 14, her 30-something boss asked her to stay behind, and talked her into having sex with him. Then the church helped cover that up. Leah was so pissed after hearing that she was practically climbing the walls. She also clearly carries some guilt for promoting and protecting the church for years, and this is her way of trying to make up for that.

I really respect her now. I'm sure she's inviting a lot of trouble for herself by taking on the Scienos but she's doing it on principle, rather than for famewhorish reasons. It doesn't seem like they have much/any dirt on her or they would have deployed it by now. She's really in a sweet spot of being famous enough that going overboard on harassing her will attract attention that will reflect badly on the church and she has enough clout to deflect it back on them.

I thought the series was good, and it's nice to see someone do something proactive to say "look I did a shitty thing..." and try to do better.

What's the A&E special called? It's called Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath. The first episode brought A&E's highest ratings in two years. I'm so glad so many people are watching it, hopefully it's helpful to some of them.
