What's the A&E special called? It's called Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath. The first episode brought A&E's highest ratings in two years. I'm so glad so many people are watching it, hopefully it's helpful to some of them. Thank you! I was hoping someone would know how it rated. Tom and Davey must be soiling their drawers. To be honest, this series could've been hosted by Gwynnie and I still would've watched it. Because ever since the shenanigans started with TomKat I've been intriqued, nay, obsessed with the Clams and their beliefs, the abuse, the whole pot, comb and cat thing. It almost seemed too bizarre to be true. But now we have Leah Remini, in addition to two former higher ups of the "church" - Mike Rinder and Amy Scobee - confirming all the weirdness. And a respectable network that is not afraid to air the story. Sooo good.

Thanks for the link. Just read it. She is bad ass. And someone speculated that Suri is short for surrogate because she's viewed as the surrogate for L Ron. Seems far fetched but it all does.

I love her. I loved her book, not only for the Scientology stuff, but I related to her talking about her difficulties adjusting to motherhood. Badass is right.

I skimmed the AMA. I think she said she hasn't reached out to Katie Holmes because she's also an SP and SPs don't contact each other. I wonder how enforceable that is.

I just started reading her book this morning. I love how she laid out a lot of her transgressions literally on the first page so the "church" can't use them against her. I forgot to DVR the new show; off to go do that now. I couldn't stand her when she was on King of Queens, but after she left Scientology and started speaking out against them I gained a lot more respect for her. I'm glad that some of her family left with her too.

I don't get why a SP would pay any attention to that edict Her AMA said that people still in Scientology are not allowed to contact SP's, nothing about SP's not contacting each other. I think Katie Holmes got out and doesn't want to look back. I don't think she's interested in commiserating with other SP's.

I think that Katie is trying to build a new identity away from the nuttiness and getting involved with Leah would draw her right back in. She's got a young child to raise, so I'm not surprised that she's not willing to reenter the swamp.

And I'm fairly certain that she signed something during the divorce regarding Scientology and that doing something like being in touch with Leah Remini would violate that and invite a legal headache.
Although, if that were the case, there's no way that Cruise or Scientology would come out looking good if they did launch a lawsuit. It would really just highlight how crazy and manipulative they are. But I can't fault her for not wanting to poke the crazy.
