I'm wondering if all the time she spends away from him and with Madonna means that her marriage is just as rocky and unstable.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Martin/Paltrow marriage was the next one in the celebrity split pile. I have been expecting an announcement for awhile no matter what statements they make on they are happy as ever (I never buy those kinds of statements).
Yes, maybe Apple is more attached the nanny than her own fishstick mother and likes having her around.... Chris probably would have more joy talking to her too rather than his wife. I just never understood that pairing. I have never heard anything nice being said about Gwynnie, but those I know who have met Chris or worked with him says he is a top fella.

Coldplay sued for copyright infringementOn YouTube this guy also claims Coldplay stole that song from him. Sounds to me like this tune is so simple that hundreds of musicians if not thousands have come up with something very similar at one time or another.

Yeah, I agree. I seem to recall another band accusing Coldplay of plagiarism but backed off when they realized the tune also sounded similar to a video game they were playing. Plus, why wait this long to file a suit? It's not like the song was under the radar. Maybe I'm too much of a conspiracy theorist but it seems odd to file a lawsuit just days after the Viva La Vida gets nominated for a bunch of Grammys.
Dumb law question. In order to win this suit wouldn't the band have to prove Coldplay had heard their song and then copied it?

Dumb law question. In order to win this suit wouldn't the band have to prove Coldplay had heard their song and then copied it? Not necessarily. George Harrison lost when the writers of the 1960s girl-group hit "He's So Fine" accused him of plagiarizing the song for his single "My Sweet Lord". The judge ruled that the copying was unintentional, that Harrison recycled the older song without realizing it. And no, you don't have to prove that the copier has heard your song (though it strengthens your case if you can). It's almost impossible to prove such a thing, actually, especially in this day of digital files.

I have to say that Viva la vida is the first Coldplay song I've liked since, I don't know, In My Place, I think. All their songs since then sounded like variations of that stupid Clocks song that was so popular for some reason. And Chris Martin's voice is one that very quickly becomes very annoying (IMHO).

Isn't that the truth. Viva la Vida is the first song that I have liked of theirs ever.
Has Chris Martin stopped referring to Coldplay as the next U2 yet?

The arguments on some other blogs about the lawsuit are hilarious, with reactions ranging from "Coldplay rulz and Satriani is totes jus jellus!!" to "Satriani is a God among men and Coldplay sucks!!!" and everything in between. Although as funny as the whole thing is it will never top the ridiculousness of the time when CCR sued John Fogerty for plagiarizing himself.

There's so much borrowing and blending that goes on in music, it's all such a pastiche.
Viva La Vida is the first Coldplay song I've ever liked. And while he looks dorky dancing around in it, he's looking pretty fine these days.
