Holy shit. Has anyone seen his roast of President Bush at the White House Correspondants Dinner? Direct Downloads (200 MB): tinyurl.com/qlrxwIt was really amazing how he ripped into Bush, who was sitting less than 10 ft away from him. The fact that he was able to keep a straight face with that humorless crowd makes him a god. I'm still shocked. It was great!

Can't wait to see him on 60 Minutes tonight!
I Tivo'd SNL last night so I could see the Ambiguously Gay Duo host. Is that pathetic? I didn't even realize that Colbert was the voice of Ace until about two months ago--how I never figured that out when Comedy Central ran SNL reruns back-to-back with TDS, I'll never know.
Anyway, yep. I pretty much love him.

laconicchick: Oops. My thinking today is clouded today - too much trying to catch up on reading before the end of the semester Thankfully, now that I've seen SC, all is clear...

Just watched his speech at the Press Correspondents' Dinner on YouTube.
How do people not realize that Colbert's neo-con act is, you know, an act? From the guests on the show who preface comments with, "As guys like us know," to whomever decided to let him speak at the dinner...what are these people smoking?
Loved it, though. He all but gave them the finger.

I always wonder about that when he has conservative type-folks on his show. Sometimes they seem like they are in on the joke, but there are many who seem to think that he is "one of them."

I said something to my friend about that today, in that a lot of the really vehemently conservative guests that they have on are the sort that avoid The Daily Show like the plague because it's "so liberal." Yet they appear on the show's spin-off. My friend said, "Well, these are the people who don't take the time to figure out what the show's about, how can you expect them to know what Stephen's last job was?"

Has he had Ann Coulter on yet? Because I would LOVE to see her on there.

He reminds me of Rick Mercer who has been tormenting politicians in Canada up-close-and-personal since about 1992. And for that I love him. I caught some of his George Bush impression at the Press Correspondents' Dinner and I fell off the couch laughing. He maintains his character so well, which (as a former theatre major) makes me really appreciate him, since Jon Stewart has become the Jimmy Fallon of US politcal satire lately.

I don't know if Stephen would be able to keep up the facade with Ann Coulter, Guinastasia. I imagine he, like most of us, would have the uncontrollable urge to kick her right in her Adam's Apple.

I just watched him roasting Bush right to his face. Wow is he gutsy. I love him. That is all.
