I searched and couldn't find a topic on her, so hopefully this isn't a duplicate thread. Anyway, along with Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez and Mariah Carey, Celine Dion is releasing a new album this year (which might make this the worst year in music history ). I can't imagine Celine making a big comeback, but I never thought Britney would be opening the VMAs either. Out of all of the divas, Celine is my favorite because she doesn't seem to take herself too seriously. She laughed at the SNL skits about her. And her freak out on Larry King about Katrina was awesome. I do hope that Celine outsells Britney, J-Lo and Mariah.

I'll be glad when she leaves Vegas and Bette Midler takes her spot after the end of the year.
Celine has just become completely insane. Oh, SillyDione!

I love Celine Dion. She seems really nice. Her Larry King Live appearance was friggin' awesome.
Only she can end a political diatribe with a perfectly performed ballad.

I love her. But her husband scares me.

I really like her. Not exactly the biggest fan of her music though.

I like her for the most part even though I don't like her music all that much. I just love how it seems sometimes like she has never been introduced to cynicism or sarcasm or anything like it. She just has a sunny disposition and is a bit of a goofball.

I have a soft spot for Celine Dion too, even though I only like a couple of her songs. I like her for the reasons the others have mentioned above, I like that she's painfully earnest, that she's one of the few celebrities who, when she says, "I'm doing this for my fans," I get the sense that she really means it.
When Kathy Griffin tells stories about meeting Celine Dion, I appreciate that Celine Dion comes across as a consummate professional. Celine signed all of merchandise that Kathy's crazy friend bought, saying, "It is my job."
I remember some awards show -- was the Oscars? -- where another singer (I think it was Barbra Streisand) flaked out at the last minute, and Celine Dion stepped in to sing her song. Celine was up there with the sheet music and did a great job. For all of Celine's flakiness, for all of her annoying behavior when her son was born, for the weird but wonderful wedding and renewal of their vows, the woman really can sing well, appreciates her fans, and takes her responsibility to them seriously.

Her music's not my favorite -- I do like several of her songs, though -- but her kind heart and professionalism have made me a fan. She seems like a good person.

I'm not the biggest fan of her music. But I just love this woman's voice. She can SANG. Her voice is perfection. And she just comes across as being so genuine and sweet. I love her live performances because she puts her heart and soul into it. And I have NEVER heard her sound bad.
