I just have to tell this funny story. I work at an insurance agency and there is this guy that comes in straight ghetto and always with a do rag. Well one day he calls in and what do I hear in the background? Celine Dion's "I'm Your Lady". Apparently he was all by himself too because I heard no other noise besides his voice and the song blasting in the background. Funny how even a "thug" can like her music. It's universal ya'll.

"I'm Your Lady"? I know just about all Celine's English music and I can't recall that one...unless maybe it was "Treat Her Like A Lady"? Now that song was the shit. That was on the Let's Talk About Love album, which was the one that had the Titanic song on it. Damn, I can't believe that was ten years ago now. That brings back memories. You can tell I'm a fan. ;D And, nothing wrong with liking "Misled". Since someone mentioned "Water From The Moon", this is an amazing performance of that song. Her voice is perfection. ETA: Coffeecakes, it just dawned on me that you must be talking about "The Power Of Love"! Duh! I should have realized that since the hook of that song is "I'm your lady..." Oh well, it still gave me a reason to post the awesome "Treat Her Like A Lady".

I think the song was actually "The Power of Love", where she sings "cause I'm your laaaaaaaaady, and you are my man".
I'm not ashamed to admit that I have several Celine CDs. I mostly listen to R&B and Hip Hop, but I admit to liking a number of "adult contemporary" songs---always good for a great love song. She does have a fabulous voice. I'm disappointed that I won't be able to get to see her in Vegas before she stops doing shows there. I've always wanted to go. I'd love to hear her voice in person.
I totally forgot about "Water from the Moon". I loved that song!

Hello. My name is the Cupcake Kid I am 22 years old and I love Celine Dion. Especially her music. It's so shameful. Can I come sit at your table? (I even like the Titanic song. So shoot me) I found an mp3 of her singing La vie en Rose on Limewire-oh dear GOD.

Cupcake, I love her too. The Titanic song is a great song, though when it was on heavy rotation it started to grate badly.

Cupcake, I love her too. The Titanic song is a great song, though when it was on heavy rotation it started to grate badly. I ignored Titanic and all its hype when it came out, including Celine's song. So when I finally listened to it a couple of years later, I really liked the song. And that is one of three Celine songs I like. The other two are "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" and "I Drove All Night." Yes, I know Cyndi Lauper's version of IDAN is better, but I still like Celine's.

I'm shocked by all the love Céline is getting here! The cool kids sure loved to gang up on her a decade ago. ;D My favorite Céline story? When Nippy tried to make a comeback at the 2004 World Music Awards, Céline was crouched next to Courtney Love backstage, watching the monitor feed in awe. You would think the Greatest Singer In Zee World would pitch a fit about the return of someone whose voice rivaled hers. But her adoration and respect for Whitney so clearly emanated from her face - and apparently, she was in tears as well. Sure, she is a cheeseball, and her marriage creeps me out. But there's just something so quaint and refreshing about someone who, by all accounts, doesn't have a snarky or bitchy bone in her body. God bless her. Oh, and back in high school, I was jealous of the kids who took French, since they got to listen to La Dion (I figured her French catalog was less cheesy and really flattered her voice). Those of us in Spanish class had to put up with Gloria Estefan's strained voice. And in college, I had a (closeted) gay friend who worshiped her. I always thought she was the Barbra Streisand of the '90s - and that's a good thing.
