Love her.
Musically, I love how she has taken well care of her voice and she still sounds amazing. Her contemporaries, Mariah and Whitney, have let their voices deteriorate for whatever reason, but Celine's has remained intact.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that! She has an unearthly voice, absolutely beautiful.

I saw a TV show once that said she went to a voice doctor early in her career and follows the advice religiously, to the point where she won't even talk for hours before a show. That's probably why she's managed to preserve it so well. Good for her for being so dedicated to do the best job she can, even if her best is not exactly my cup of tea.
She should never, ever cover AC/DC though.

I like alot of her earlier stuff, like "Water from the Moon", but not really her later catalog.
Her voice is perfection though. And she cracks me the hell up when she performs. Girl really gets into it.

O/T BoroKat--on 9/20 I'll be a grown-up too. Happy Birthday!
Topic? I don't mind Celine. I'll even admit to enjoying a couple of her songs...to you, kind anonymous folks. I think she's got a good voice.
I still love Ana Gasteyer's impersonation of her from SNL though, so earnest and funny.

I love her. She's probably the most "real" celebrity out there. A true case of what you see is what you get.
A show of how good she can really sing was at the Grammys(?) singing the late Luthor Vandross' "Dance With My Father." Not only did her own father die just weeks before, but her earpiece (used to keep a singer on key) crapped out on her during the performance and she STILL sang the hell out of that song.

The Prayer with Andrea Bocelli - amazing.
I like her because she just is who she is. She's lighthearted and whacky, and loves that old man.

She has always seemed kind of dorky, sheltered and "older" than her age, so I'm not surprised she married "the oldest living man in Canda" (TM Kathy Griffin).
I do wish she would pick nicer outfits for the red carpets, though.

Damn, can you say talented? Incredible performance without crap to help her along. That is truly a great singer. She and Whitney I notice are the only ones(or at she is now) that can hit the high notes and it seems completely effortless.

Alice Cooper was on MuchMusic and talked about taking his daughter to Celine's Vegas show. He said "it's not my kind of music, but you can't deny that instrument", talking about her voice. I really respect him for that. It would have been so typical for a rocker to rag on her but he stated the truth: that woman has a scary good voice. I'm not a fan of her songs much but yeah, the instrument.
