Celine's video was pretty heartbreaking. I'd never heard of this illness before and with you all with saying it's really sad news for her and her family.

That is just horrible. I can't even imagine what it feels like to be facing something like that. That poor family.

Celine's new documentary, "I Am: Celine Dion" is out now on Amazon. I'm only about half-way (I had to stop it for a spell because it's A LOT) and it's incredibly powerful. As someone that suffers with chronic pain through a idiopathic auto-immune condition, I feel her situation immensely. She wanted to make sure the camera crew captured everything so that we, the audience, understand more about her struggles and triumphs, as well as becoming more educated about this disease. There is a scene where you see one of her painful seizures and it's just heartbreaking. I understand a bit about those moments, but I don't know her individual suffering, and this just made me cry. I applaud her bravery and convictions. She's a strong person, with a strong support system, but it can still feel very alone as she goes through it on her own. I'm someone that loves to sing, too, and when she talks about having this taken away from her -- I can relate so much. It's everything and not having your voice can really paralyze you. I truly hope that she's going to get better or at least ease the majority of this pain. No one deserves to go through this torture.

Great review, Spinderella.
I don't think I can't watch it, it sounds so awful.
She seems so nice, does God hate her or something?

I think this is one of those "when bad things happen to good people" moments. It is sad. Not that I think someone who is not nice "deserves" a horrible illness to affect them, but I have to agree on your point. I mean...has Celine ever been involved in any scandal that paints her as anything but a sweet, loving, charming person? She has always been decent to her co-workers and associates, always been a goofy, self-deprecating celeb who will be the first one to laugh at herself, and she has always been anything BUT a diva (in the traditional, negative connotation of the word). I saw a clip of the docu and I literally cried. I truly hope a real-life miracle happens and she gets out of this alive, healthy, and ready to sing again...not for her audience benefit, but for herself. She obviously LOVES to sing,

Question: Would people be sad if Chris Brown was going through this physical hell?
I wouldn't be sad at ALL. Karma been's swerving about this dancing piece of excrement for far too long.
The only real baggage is the age gap that existed between her and her husband, but that's pretty much all I could think of off the top of my dome. Also, it's a moot point since they seem to have a happy and loving marriage.

Celine has been nothing but disciplined throughout her career. At one point in the documentary she talks about being jealous of these rock stars who go partying at bars, smoking and drinking and having a good time and they're still going strong with hoarse voices and a degree of character to their music that her more technically perfect singing maybe doesn't have. Meanwhile she was always resting up ahead of concerts and being the good girl. It really isn't fair. She did everything to protect her voice and treat it like a finely tuned instrument. And she really cared about the fans and insisted she put on the best show she possibly could each and every time she went on stage. Yet now she's dealing with this.
I don't actively wish ill upon too many people, lol, but if I had to pick a singer who "deserved" this fate the last person I would pick would be Celine. And yeah, I wouldn't be as heartbroken for everyone as I am for her. Music and singing is her true passion in life, right next to being a performer. I don't think she was in it for anything other than her love of her craft and she treated her talent like the precious gift it was rather than taking it for granted.
I would say if anyone can possibly make a comeback from a condition like this to sing in concert again, it is her.

I don’t want to watch. Sounds like such a terrible disease.
The only slightly ick thing about her was how she got together with her husband. Didn’t she move in with him and his wife as a young teenager and then a few years later she married him? Ick. Ick is towards him as the married adult in the situation. But they were married for many years.

But they were married for many years. She mentions that her mother was very upset and concerned about her relationship with Rene. She acknowledges now that she sees her mum's point of view. While her genre of music is not at all what I would willingly listen to, her voice is awesome, and she seems like a lovely human being. She appears to be so ...thankful for all she does have.
