Aww, I liked her in "My Father the Hero." She was so pretty in that movie! Of course, she was like 14. I agree with the poster who said cigarettes are going to take a toll on her fast--I think it's already happening.
She needs to stop putting her damn foot in her mouth. I totally understand where she's coming from, but like others have said, there are more tactful ways of putting it. Granted, she didn't say she HATED "Knocked Up," she just said it was hard for her to love it. I interpreted that to mean that overall she loved the movie, even if the main female characters basically sucked.

From the VF Interview
. I don’t really know Izzie very well right now. She’s changed a lot. I’m trying to figure her out and keep her real… It was a ratings ploy. It was absolutely something that shocked people; it wasn’t predictable, and people didn’t see it coming. It’s our fourth season; there’s not a lot of spontaneity left. And business is business; I understand that, but I want there to be some cooperation between the business end and the creative end, so there’s some way of keeping it real.”
Katie-poo, most of the GA fans hate the whole Gizzie thing. But, quit biting the hand that feeds you because Shonda can very easily write you out of the show. She did it with Isaiah, she can do it with you, if you keep this kind of trash talk up.
I used to like her. Now she just grates.

I mostly agree with her assessment of the female characters in Knocked Up, but I don't have a lot of sympathy for someone who did a job just for the paycheck and then complains about the role she went into with eyes wide open. She really gets off on being a straight shooter, but someone needs to explain to her about diplomacy.
I already mute GA when she comes on. Looking forward to when she disappears.

I don't have a problem with what she said. First off, it's true. Second, I'd much rather read honest opinions rather than the canned pr crap I'm subjected to in just about every other celebrity interview. It's refreshing to me. I also don't think there's anything all that heinous about taking a job for money and then later admitting there were parts of the job I didn't particularly care for. I know I've done it, hell, I'm doing it right now. There are definitely parts of my job that are sexist or where I have to put up with sexist men. No job is perfect. Overall, you weigh the pros and the cons and decide if the paycheck and the parts of the job you like are worth putting up with the stuff that you don't like. And if I decide the answer is "yes" that doesn't mean that I lose the right to bitch about the parts I don't like.

I definitely agree with her about Knocked Up. I enjoyed the movie, but the way the female characters were portrayed really bothered me.

I went to Mormon "youth conference" with her about 12 years ago. She was a queen bee/bitch type. And gorgeous.

I hear you roseland, and I don't know what you do, but I think she is in a very specific kind of situation - when she read the script and decided to make the movie only for the $$, she also decided that she was going to promote to the world a view of women that she fundamentally disagreed with. I understand taking morally tenuous jobs when you need money, but she had a nice, steady paycheck coming in. I disliked the portrayal of women in Knocked Up, and her choosing to act - not just in it, but as one of the women - is tantamount to endorsing it, because hundreds of thousands if not millions of people will see the film, and maybe several hundred will read these comments of hers about it.
I think she's trying to have it both ways - endorsing something negative when it means money in her pocket and condemning it later, when it suits her needs.

My problem with "Knocked Up" were with the male characters. Bodies of men, behavior of 12-year olds. Someone tell me that men do not take that long to grow up and/or that they do grow up. If so, why does it take so long?

Actors and actresses used to slam their own movies all the time. Good for her for keeping up the old tradition, though it looks as though people tend to side with commerce nowadays.
