Who Are These People And Why Are They Famous?

I ask you this! Why the hell are Billy Ray Cyrus and his horsie-mouthed daughter famous? Billy Ray's fame should've stayed in the early 90s. I watched like 10-minutes of that Hannah Montana crap and it was so boring that I started to chew my toe nails. I would've done that anyway yes, but watching that sped up the process.

I mean that chick was in Page Six today, because she broke up with one of the Jonas Brothers. Her shit should stay in BOP! and Tiger Beat. What the hell? She's like 15 or some shit. They'll be back together by Sunday. That's how teen break-ups work. I know every tween, fetus, baby and some creepy older men dig her ass, but I don't get it.

Her voice makes me want to scream. Does Disney teach all of their young actors to screech like that? Everyone on Suite Life with Zach and Cody does the same thing. I can't watch more than a minute of it.

Maybe I should rephrase this and state that Miley doesn't bug me, so much as the crazy parents who spent thousands of dollars and days in line to get tickets to her concerts.

Mother Lied To Win Hannah Montana Contest

A North Texas mother made up a tragic story about a father dying in Iraq for an essay contest to win a Hannah Montana prize package.

I must admit that Miley doesn't bug me too much. I work with children so I'm inundated with all kinds of kid crap. I do hate her new song - See you Again. It's getting a lot of airplay here.

I'm tired of hearing how normal she is, how well she's being brought up. I guess she was profiled in People mag, and somebody wrote a letter in praising her mother for her parenting skills. They went on to say that if Miley's mom had raised Britney and Paris and Lindsey, they wouldn't be in the messes they are now - that they would be more like Miley, Miss Perfect. I don't buy it.

She's probably the most manufactured thing ever. I don't dislike her, but I hate how she's going to take over the world. If she could act or sing, I probably wouldn't mind her so much.
She actually strikes me as quite...naive about a lot of things. Her dad doesn't seem too bright either, so I hope Disney isn't cheating them out of anything.

I saw her on Oprah and surprisingly I found her likeable.

I did think she was well-spoken for her age compared to the likes of Britney and maybe even Hilary Duff at the same age.

Maybe her whole persona is fake but if it is then she's a better actress than people give her credit for.

I watched a "Hannah Montana" episode yesterday, and at the end of the show she was sitting on her back porch/balcony/whatever strumming the guitar and singing about her dead mother, and damn if it she didn't sound absolutely horrible. On stage at the Walt Disney World parade she sounded okay, but I can't even see how young kids would tolerate her as an acoustic performer.

And the character of her brother can be really annoying. I hate it when kids shows want to portray a teenage male character as being a horn dog, but they can't make it sexual because of the ages of the kids watching, so they desexualize it and make it all about kissing and staring at girls' legs and stuff like that (i.e. Sly Winkle on "California Dreams"). Not that I think kids shows should have sex on them, naturally, but still I'm not completely sure what to make of it. When I think it becomes tedious is when they lay it on so thick with the sexless girl chasing to the point that the boy becomes a caricature, which seems to be what the brother on this show is.

I watched some clips of her show on YouTube out of curiosity, and her speaking voice sounds like she has 20, 25 pack years in her. Why someone thought she could sing is beyond me.

Here's what I don't get--for every Christina A. there are dozens and dozens of these no-talent tween girls whacking us in the face every five minutes. Yet there must be kids out there who can SING, dance, etc. and even play instruments (remember those days? when musicians played an actual instrument?!)...where the hell are they? They can't all be ugly. There must be some who have the package. Yet we just get more of the same.
