According to the IMDB trivia, Parker and Stone like Matt Damon a lot and think he's a cool guy. When the Damon puppet was built, they thought it looked "retarded", hence the whole "Maaaatt ... Daaaamonnnnn" thing. Damon, apparently, thought the whole thing funny as hell.

Just got the uncensored and unrated DVD last weekend and I have to say that its even better than the movie. I'm not quite sure if its a spoiler (for the DVD at least) but anyway during the puppet sex the inclusion of the golden shower and caviar scenes are pure comedic gold. I'm only very disappointed that there is no commentary by Stone & Parker - well there is no commentary at all.
I'm so ronry, so ronry.... ;D

I'll be the only person in this thread who hated the movie but I really truly HATED it. And I love Trey & Matt. I adore South Park and also love Cannibal, Orgasmo & Baseketball . . . but for some reason this one just didn't work for me.
The only thing that really made me laugh was the panthers. I also laughed at his disguise.
But even the hand-waving made me roll my eyes. Something about all of it just fell flat with me and I was unbelievably bored about 1/2way through it. The puking was funny at first but to go on for that long? I was like "We get it. He's puking. Funny stuff. Let's move on now"
I was also in a theatre surrounded by morons though. Every time anything remotely funny happened this guy behind me would repeat something over and over again and laugh in the most obnoxiously loud way. For example, the puppet pukes . . . guy behind me screams in laughter while saying "He's puking! He's puking!" over and over again. Oy vey.

What made me laugh was the Ameria Fuck YEAH! song. I looked over at Sgt. Limey and suggested playing that song when they are deployed later this year.

Kim Jong Il just sounded like a pissy little Cartman. "Jesus, open your fucken ears". I agree. There were times I was expecting him to go into full-on Cartman voice. Did anyone else find "Everyone Has AIDS" to be hilarious? I was in side-splitting laughter because I like Rent yet have a sense of humor. The friend who I saw it with had never heard of Rent (even though his bass teacher played in the orchestra a while back) but still thought it was funny. However, after listening to it a few times on the soundtrack, it's lost some of its funny.

So wrong. So funny.
We totally use 'the signal' around our house when something goes wrong. We're odd people. heh.
I was totally bummed at the lack of commentary on this DVD, too. It was one of the reasons I was looking forward to it.

Saw it this weekend and my sides still hurt from laughing. I think America, Fuck Yeah is now my favorite song ever.

I wonder if the lack of commentary is because Parker and Stone seemed to nearly kill themselves making this movie?
I remember reading an interview with Trey and it sounded like this movie was the biggest pain in the ass ever. It sounded like the production schedule was brutal and the puppets are the worst things to work with.
They're probably still in therapy over it.

You know what they say..."never work with kids, animals, or marionettes."

Yeah, now you mention it, the extras were quite revealing. It looked like Trey was having some kind of breakdown, and people, he shaved his head!
