I also never got an idea as to their strategy. In the original, there was enough dialogue to outline it several times: they were going to where the hull was thinnest and attempt to break through. What was the plan here? We at first thought Kurt Russelll turned off the propellors, but then they started up again the reverse way? So they could through a fire extinguisher in it and explode it? Huh? What happened to just turning them off? I saw this last night and didn't think it was as bad as I'd heard it was going to be. I guess going in with zero expectations is a good thing. I think the thing with Kurt at the end is that he couldn't figure out how to shut them off, so in desperation he just did what he could and then the others worked with that. (Remember the way the propellers were spinning originally would have thrown debris back at them.) I couldn't get over how old and frail Richard Dreyfuss looked. His voice even sounded different. Sad.
