I liked Craig because he brought a brutality to Bond that think suited the character but the last 2 have been boresville. The studio choices just sound samey-same. That goes for Hiddleston as well. At least Cumberbatch isn't up for the role. For me they'll always have missed the mark by dismissing Elba. I think he could have been the best Bond of them all. I have no interest in what looks to be a continued tired franchise. Rebecca or Gillian would be kickass and I could just imagine the fanboys freaking out about THAT considering what the response was to female ghostbusters.

I did like Casino Royale and I do think Daniel Craig is kind of perfect as Bond. I don't understand why he's leaving the franchise. It doesn't appear that he has anything better to do. He's been doing it for almost a decade and he's openly talked about how incredible tiring it is to train for the part and keep in shape. The older he gets, the harder that sort of extreme work-out will be on his body. Perhaps he just decided that he's fine with going back to more low key work and that he's made enough money now to last him ten lifetimes and that's that? Yeah, he's 48 now and that kind of physically demanding role is going to wear on you. I thought he was perfect in Casino Royale, QoS was pretty meh and I haven't seen the other two yet. Personally, I'm more annoyed that Judi Dench is gone!

I loved Skyfall.
Anyone but Damian Lewis. Anyone but him.

Spectre was just so disappointing, what a waste of a great cast. I still would like Rebecca Ferguson who was the best part of Rogue Nation.

If they do go the woman Bond route, I think it would be cool for them to take a former Bond girl and turn her into 007. It could be like an origin story -- don't deny the past but admit that the title is an alias.
Plus it would be a great girl power message, yeah she was a sex object, and/but that didn't limit her abilities.

As Sam Mendes just reminded everyone, Bond is never chosen by who the public or the media wants it to be; it's 100% about who happens to be giving Barbara Broccoli the tinglies in her nether regions at the time, so it's probably going to be somebody out of left field. But a woman? No way.

I, for one, am totally okay with hot men being objectified as the endless parade of a female 007's ridiculously named conquests.

Not Jamie Bell.

At first I was bummed that Craig is apparently totally gone, but even I felt the last offering was subpar, and I'm hoping DC can now escape character typing and Tom Cruisean patheticness by getting out.
But I doubt I'm going to see any more James Bond films because Craig was the only actor who ever made me care about Bond at all.

The official shortlist for the next James Bond. I don't know who Aiden Turner is. Jamie Bell is waaayy too young / young looking for Bond. Fassy and Idris and Hunnamn make the best choices for me. I want my beefcake with my shaken martini.
