Popping in to say I saw it again, and I still love it.
I love the soundtrack, too, and it has become mine. That's some damn fine swashbuckling music.

I have had "Hoist the Colours" in my head pretty much all day. "Yo ho, haul together, hoist the colours high! Heave ho, thieves and beggars, never say we die!"

Someone else mentioned that the music during the scene when Elizabeth, Jack, and Will meet Beckett (it's called Parlay on the soundtrack) is very "Once Upon a Time in the West" and I have to agree. But I think it's awesome.
I think I may go see it again sometime this week.

I just want to echo everyone's thoughts - pretty much that Orlando was smokin' hot in this movie for the first time evah and Elizabeth is a total Mary Sue.
One line I thought was funny (don't worry, it's not a spoiler) was when Jack says they're an "unimaginative lot" when it comes to naming people. And then he talks about the no-armed one -eyed pirate that he calls Larry. Ha!

My favorite line was from Jack when he's jumping off of the boat in the Locker. "Gentlemen, I wash my hands of this weirdness."

I think I teared a bit when Pintel said "Poppet". How things have changed.

I am glad to read your spoilers before I see it though so I can understand it a bit better as everyone seems to be a bit confused. They were saying on the radio how confusing it was and without Johnny Depp they didn't think this movie would ever fly. I keep reading this about the second and third movies but I believe it was entirely true of the first as well. I very firmly believe that the first pirates movies doesn't even do half of its box office without Johnny Depp. As for confusing plot lines - round when the first movie came out, I remember reading various message boards/reviews and such blasting the complicated plot of the first movie. I kept having discussions with people who were lamenting all the so called plot holes that were actually only such because they weren't paying attention. I couldn't believe how many people though Jack was one of the ghost pirates for the whole movie. That said I do agree that the first was a much tighter and smarter movie but I think that two and three are just as entertaining if that makes any sense...

Oh, absolutely. Without Depp, PoTCI would have probably slipped off the radar with just a drop in the bucket. If you read the script, Captain Jack was originally conceived as a sidekick, and the Will & Elizabeth lovestory was front and center. Depp is the reason it was a blockbuster.

Absolutely and has an oscar nomination to show for it. I think the movie is great fun but I am still wondering why they decided to make Elizabeth basically the main character?
