Prince's Tale is the chapter of the book all about Snape's memories. His childhood with Lily, their Hogwarts's years, her death, and the aftermath. Everything related to Harry finding out about Snape's secret past is the Prince's Tale.

Mutagen: That part drove me up the wall so bad. So you're not the only one.

I didn't notice that part myself, Mutagen, but my daughter did, and she was as irked as you.
Thanks, babycakes - yeah, that makes sense, considering that Snape is the Half-Blood Prince and all. And yeah, that part was magnificent. Seeing Snape cry was both terrifying and awe-inspiring.

Mutagen, nope you're definitely not the only one who noticed that HUGE discrepancy!

Thanks guys. It was such an obvious fail that I really wondered if I was imagining it. I can actually understand why <<they cast that particular actress, because she and young!Snape had the right kind of chemistry - they were sweet together. But it's just, could they not have sprung for contact lenses or CGI??>>

Did you all laugh at the hug? LOL I was like -- um, am I supposed to be laughing right now? But everyone else did too.
I loved it, start to finish, I was totally riveted even though I knew the story. It's kind of the same feeling I had for Lost, crying for the characters and their moments of awesomeness as well as their losses, but also just knowing this story came to an end. WAHHH. I started tearing up before the TITLE even came up. At some point I was just straight up sobbing.

Ok, just saw it. A little background: I've never read the books and if I didn't have children I would never have seen the movies. I saw the first movie with my sister and her kids and they are fans. I didn't understand what all the hype was at all. I remember being dumbfounded when my sister explained several times to me Harry was saved by his mother's love. Come on how stupid is that. I'm watching the 7th. Harry goes to confront Voldemort. He meets the ghost of his mom. I lost it. I sobbed, cried, it was waterworks. I mean the subtext of the story is simply that your mother's love can sustain you through the years of growing up. How beautiful is that! Also thank god for Alan Rickman.

Ha! Well that's a simplified way of putting it. In the book it's spelled out that Lily's sacrifice (throwing herself in front of baby Harry) created a sort of magical force field. The cost of her life provided a life long protection against Voldemort. Only when Voldy was resurrected with Harry's own blood was he finally able to hurt/touch him. But your version works just as well. And yeah, that scene in the forest-- buckets of tears were shed. I would recommend going back and reading the books. They are 10 times better and more emotionally resonant than the films.

Even watching the trailers, I kind of lost it when Sirius/Gary Oldman showed up. The movie was no different.
